I am going to sign the papers on this 2014 Limited with 114,000 miles with the 5.4 v3. The exterior and interior are in mint condition, the maintenance records show proper oil changes. How does this sound to you guys? I don’t mind putting in a couple grand to get it 300 K ready but also don’t wanna dive into a money pit right away. https://share.icloud.com/photos/02bqqwHnkmLjPYLf7whYcZllQ

Well I'm not hearing any chain rattle or exhaust manifold leaks so that's good if this was a cold start. As for evidence of needing the job that everyone gets itchy about, the VVT phaser/solenoid replacement and timing combo, you wouldn't hear it on a cold start. The engine needs to be full hot to hear the diesel engine and all the clickityclacking come to life.

But from what little info could be pulled out of the clip, I don't see/hear anything of concern.

You posted this last week saying you were going to sign the papers. Did you buy it yet? If you did buy it and the classic VVT noises/symptoms have reared their head in the meantime (that's what happened to me because I didn't know what to look out for on this vehicle and just chalked it up to an exhaust manifold leak), here's a link to my thread on doing the job. That thread has a lot of good info if you're thinking about doing it. It seems like a monster undertaking to a novice like myself but is rather straight forward. Just follow the process and don't get creative.
