Technically it’s a resonator so Thts probably why there’s not a huge sound differenceSounds good! So you're running with no muffler? I was kind of expecting it to be much louder without a muffler... I like it!

Trying to defeat the weld on the stock tip bc that would save me money and fit perfectly. The hanger I bought will also pull the pipe up at more of a straight line rather than angled down like it is now. Probably finish this project up tomorrow or Monday. That sounds pretty good. Needs some sort of tip though
Alrighty fellas! Today was the day. Loosened the clamp up above the suspension and took off the rear muffler. Next bought a $20 piece of 3” ID to 3” OD 45 degree pipe and clamped her on. Dumps right behind the wheel. Might extend it a little and secure with universal exhaust hangerView attachment 23541Sounds ALOT better too which I’m surprised. Little throaty
You can just grind the weld off with an angle grinder. That's probably the easiest way to do it.Trying to defeat the weld on the stock tip bc that would save me money and fit perfectly. Yeah I’ve got another piece of straight 3” pipe I’m going to attach to it and use and exhaust hanger to pull it all up so it looks more like the F150 exhaust, nice and straight out the sideJust a little fatherly advice, extend the pipe out beyond the body. You run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. If you have a strong wind blowing in the right direction, you run the risk of the exhaust gases staying under the truck and getting in to the cab. You can get a way with that in a pickup truck because the bed is separate from the cab. Not sure if you have a state inspection, but if you do. that might not pass.

paint the pipes black, throw a tip on and it’s doneYou can add a chrome tip to it and it should go far enough out so that you won't have any issues. This is as far as I can get it up without the hangers rattling on the other metal components. Used a universal exhaust hanger on the factory bolts from the old exhaust hangerView attachment 23554paint the pipes black, throw a tip on and it’s done

Yes I do. As you can see I went old school and used u clamps instead of welding. I could not convince myself to pay some dude $150+ to weld two pipes together when I could get hangers for $4 each. The big red circle is where the OEM hanger was located. Two smaller ones are where the bolts were that I had to choose from to attach new hanger. I removed that to use the bolts to hold the universal hanger I bought to pull the pipes up as far as I could without them hitting other metal stuff under there. I am looking for some band clamps to replace the u clamps as they are sorta obnoxious but this is fine for now and will be spraying the pipes black after this rain goes away. Can’t see it unless you’re all the way under thereExcellent...do you have any pics underneath where you put the hanger(s)?
