After sitting in chip purgatory since 3/30, finally got my email this morning that I am built with ETA of 6/26-7/2.

Mine was built a month ago and is listed as Convoy but on dealers computer it shows as rail delay. Losing a lot of faith in Ford these days

I've never had any faith nor brand loyalty to Ford or any other vehicle manufacturer. Those days are over for me.

Based on experience though, I'll never buy a GM product based on my ownership of a Tahoe. Maybe I'm painting with broad strokes there, but the motor and transmission on our 2012 was awful.

If I could find a vehicle that has comparable engine and transmission technology as the Expedition, I'd drop my order with Ford and go another route. I'm beyond disappointed with this whole retail order fiasco. But apparently there are too many dollars chasing too few assets, so you have few vehicles being sold for top dollar.

This is all tangential, but based on the way Ford treated me with respect to my 2014 Explorer, I shouldn't even have bothered with another Ford product. They did not take care of me with regards to the aluminum hood corrosion issue. Basically told me " you're on your own."

Mine was built on 4-20-22. Being waiting for shipment since then. Says rail delay. They moved the ETA from June 2 to July 1. Not sure why it jumped an entire month.

Just like the supply chain of parts *into* the plant is totally broken, the supply chain *out* of the plant is also broken. They don't have enough rail cars coming into the plant, they don't have enough workers to load cars, the train companies don't have the capacity to move railcars like they should ... and on and on.

I assume they just gave you an arbitrary date. They really have no idea. My dealer has had cars show up completely unannounced three weeks early, and others that inexplicably take six months to ship.

The only real option is to take up meditation. Or Xanex.

On schedule for Monday, crossing my fingers. My neighbor ordered an F250 in Dec had a build date of May 9th and it was delivered May 27th hoping my Expedition hits that timeline between build and delivery.

Still don't have my window sticker yet.

Almost 3 months to deliver is ridiculous. I am at one month and still waiting. Even the dealer says "it gets here when it gets here" Gee Thanks
At least you made to being built. I got bupkis. Order confirmation and nothing else

The crazy thing to me is that I'm working with a sales/leasing broker who works with every car manufacturer, and this delivery delay craziness is pretty much limited to Ford. BMW SUVs made in South Carolina reliably show up 3-4 days after being released from the plant, etc. There is really something badly wrong with Ford operations right now.

I'm 32 days after being built and released for shipment. Earlier this week they assigned my car to a specific rail car—but that rail car is still sitting at the plant! It could show up this weekend, or in late August. Nobody has any idea.

BMW is continuously rated as one of the best supply chain leaders in the market (top 25 globally).

Living a few miles down the road, and knowing people who work on the assembly floor, or in their local corporate offices at BMW, I can tell you that they too have major issues with their supply chain. For them, it boils down to a specific line or model, and spirals from there. Countless holding fields of cars exist with vehicles awaiting parts/chips. Countless rail cars offsite, empty, countless over the road trucks/trailers parked getting maintenance done now, while they await vehicles to be released for shipment. They also pick and choose what they build based on what they have parts/chips for, and ship out those that they can.

What you don't hear, is the amount of complaints that you do here, especially of on a thread like this.
