Ah, fits like a glove. Right under where I've installed a couple remote starts, though on ones clearly not equipped w inverter or the module wouldn't have fit in the space.

Under one of the front seats could be another good spot for the Inverter, if one doesn't care for an OEM setup

They do get hot though, so if you go under the seat try to keep it off the carpet or take necessary precautions for heat. In one of my F150s the factory inverter was located under the passenger seat and they had it insulated and fire wrapped.

I’m basically swapping out my current 150W inverter for the F150 400W one. (Plus adding the dash AC outlet)

I’m keeping it in the same spot as OEM. I’m sure the mounting holes won’t perfectly line up but I love a little challenge.

At the end of day, The goal is always to get a factory look on all my mods/upgrades [emoji41]

Yup, that’s the plan.

I’m using the existing harness for the floor console AC outlet.

I’m splicing in the harness closer to the Inverter to add the dash ac outlet.

can you post your part numbers for inverter, outlet(s), and harnesses you’ve bought? The weather is getting nice here and I just had a situation on a road trip in which I needed a better inverter, so I think I’ll tackle it soon.

• I already have the AC Outlet in the rear panel of the center console but here it is anyway - DS7Z-19N236-A. P.S: I checked the Ford Website upside down for a vertical 400W socket. NO LUCK !!!

• I'm replacing the existing J-Case Fuse in the BJB. Right now, if you have the OEM Expedition Inverter, you should see a 40A fuse in that slot; I'm bumping it up to a 60A to match the recommended ampere in the F150. In the BJB this fuse is in slot F33 (Consult the owner's manual)

Keyword Search: Low Profile J-Case Fuse 60A (Yellow Cartridge)

• Mounting & Wiring:

The rest is mounting the inverter ... which I'm anticipating to be slightly challenging given that the F150's is a tad bit bigger in size, but where there's a will there's a way.

And then wiring...

When it comes to wiring, many roads lead to Rome; this is the road I’m taking. I’m sure there are easier ways of doing this, I’m simply showing the way I’m doing it.

That being said, I’m making my own harness adapter which will be "sorta" plug-n-play. Only saying "Sorta" because I still have to splice in 3 wires & add a terminal in the existing Expedition Inverter Connector.






Completely forgot to mention you’ll need pigtail WPT-962 for the AC/DC outlet. (See next post)

The 3 black dots represent the splices you'll have to make into the existing Expedition inverter harness. (If you have one from factory)

Pin 4 of C2293 is the additional Terminal needed for the Dash AC/DC outlet LED indicator.

Man this is super helpful. I don’t have an inverter in my truck, so I’m starting from scratch. I just used one of the 12v plug in ones for this last road trip, hence the issues. I still may be out of my depth, but looks like a fun project to tinker on. Did you happen to come across the part number for the expy harness in your hunt?

Also, I just measured my father-in-law’s 2016 f-150 400w outlet, it looks like his is 3.25”x2.25”. The cubby in our trucks are a hair larger, do you think it’ll fit no problem?

I’m 99.99% sure the harness will be integral to the main vehicle harness rather than being a separate one but there’s always that 0.01%chance it may not be. I’ll investigate and let you know
