New owner here, with about 50k miles.

I was thinking on putting in the K&N airfilter and came across the AirAidair filters.

Has anyone had any experience with this brand / design ?
It is somewhat cone shapped, but looks like it would fit into the stock filter housing.

Does the design allow for better air flow / filtering?

when stumbling on this brands website, they also make a Throttle boddy spacer and a throttle body booster... Do these really work ? ie. add HP, MPGs, pickup?

Any thoughts?

AirRaid makes a decent filter, but does that one come with the CAI housing too, or just the filter? Their Cold Air Intakes are just as good as other brands. You just have to decide on which one looks better under your hood as some are chrome, some are plastic, and some are corrugated. Stay away from a corrugated intake tube if you can as they will decrease air flow.
As far as the spacers, don't waste your money.

the Airaid filter was a drop in to the stock housing ( not sure if they made CAI)... Just has a unique cone shapped deisgn... wasnt sure if it made any difference

I didn't think airaid made cai

I know they make them for other vehicles as I saw one on GEARZ last night for a Jeep Wrangler. As far as the Expy, not sure.

AIRRIAD is huge in the diesel world and holds up well to the amount of air those things can suck in, and price seems to be on par with K&N, and others

A CAI on my SC F150 Harley Truck got an increase of 1 lb of boost, which is roughly 10-15 HP. This was dyno tested before and after so I would think it not ALL snakeoil.

Because there's less material then in a stock one....trust me your letting more silica in with a "high fow" aftermarket air filter than with a stock one

Cold air in take is a joke unless its ram air and its taking it through the hood or fenderwell others wise your still just suckin in hot engine bay air...

I can break out thermo dynamics to...

Back 6th grade science, energy cannot be creak or destroyed only transferred

Heat is energy, cold is absent of energy, energy will flow from an adbundance to where ther is less energy until it balances out

So with that said air flowing into your grill or engine bay, flows through the fins ob the radiator with less heat (energy) than the coolant flowing through the cores, as it passes through the fins, energy transfers from the coolant to the passing through the air, gets whipped up by the fan and sent towards the engine and to the ground, towards the hood

You have heat coming from the engine aswell
Heat from the road, from the tires, from the brakes, from the trans, even heat from your ac condensor, trans cooler

Your cold air intake is sitting in the middle of this

The hotter the air the less o2 molecules in the incoming air

I could expand further but its useless

To actually achive colder air, a snorkel, ram air, from vefor radiator, on tbd hood, wheel well etc

Or on a n/a or turbo vehicle u can do a air-air setuo and put it below the grill to cool the incoming air, maybe even a meth mister blowing over the air to air

So snake oil is snake oil
