Greetings all,

My 2000 Expy has a replacement engine in it. I took a cell phone pic of the identification sticker, but after poking around on the net, I can't find a site where I can enter the info and find out what engine it is. I am wondering if my engine is a little sluggish. The thing has a lot of grunt, but my Expy won't do a burnout. Perhaps that's just the way they are? It's my first Expy, but not my first Ford. After 3 Mustang Cobras, I'd like to smoke the hides once in a while.

Here is the pic:

Thanks in advance for any help!

I assume its 2wd because if its A4wd its not going to happen.

With A4wd on the 2000 you would either need to do 'brown wire mod' or pull fuse to disable 4wd.

You can do a lightning conversion and spinning the rear wheels would not be an issue as long as its 2wd. Not sure why you would want to though because it would eat tires quickly with the extra weight that the suv has on the rear.

If you want to spin your tires, go find a gravel or dirt road. As for your engine:

The first character is a zero - 0g626aa is the correct search for what it is. Appears to be a short block 5.4L V8, which makes sense, right?

I should add - if you want cobra like performance, go get a blower added.

From the sticker you can see its a 5.4 Windsor manufactured on 8-10-99 so its a PI 2v motor which is what they used up until the 3v was introduced. (260 HP) 97-98 were non-pi. Not sure what else you would want to know.

Thanks for the replies. I pretty much figured that the engine was right, just was curious if there were any variations of the 5.4 between truck an Expy.

As for spinning the tires, I've run 175 on the freeway in someplace not on the map that never existed running against Vipers, Vettes, yadda-yadda.... been there done it. It's my first Expy, love it, it's a tank and it helps me take care of my family, that's why I picked it up.

Hey be-A-Dick46, stay off my threads, you ain't welcome here!

With your attitude you can be certain I'll honor your request But I was surprised I got four LIKES for my comment. You do however need to get a good sense of humor Sorry if you felt insulted
