The tech and service manager both told me that they would have to prove the aftermarket part caused the issue.

In the case of a catch can, you kept your motor too clean would be the only thing ford could say. I was told it wouldn’t be an issue and it was recommended to install one. They actually recommended the UPR. I had never heard of them.

I guess it depends on the dealer...

The UPR kit came in yesterday. Looks to very high quality. The can itself is very nicely made. I should be able to install this weekend.

Directions are pretty straight forward.

Did you get the drain plug and tubing? It makes it so much easier to drain.

There is a really cheap option that I bought on amazon.

I didn’t order it. I actually got it from mustang performance (UPR) on eBay for a big discount and they didn’t have the option to add it on. I figured I could always add it later if needed.

Do share the cheap amazon option though. It’s just a npt fitting and tubing right?

The JLT only cleans one side of the PCV system. The UPR cleans the whole system.

Has there been any scientific analysis of the "crud" in the can to determine what it is? How about an Engineering analysis of the oil before and after? Just curious. I would want to know if the oil is being modified by the catch can. But then again I go overboard on thinking at times.
