Info 2005 expy about 200, 000 miles. running well yesterday starts normal start down the road check throttle boy comes on goes into limp mode. have it towed home, thinking the worst all sorts of parts. pull air filter today to see how hard it is to get to throttle body. when i pull filter chewed up and all sorts of junk laying in air box, this is not usually my luck getting away easy. later will take everything off and let you know how it works out.Maybe only vac. the rest of intake and throttle body and clean. Now going to remove big canister that goes into fender and place a screen over end in fender well. any one else have this happen to them???

Years ago, when we had an overflow of vehicles, we had a Toyota 4X4 pickup that would be parked nightly on a gravel driveway adjacent to the desert behind our property. There must have been pack rats living nearby because we would find the top of the engine crammed with dried cactus fruit and dog poop on a regular basis...the only wire they chewed through was a wire to a sensor on the transfer case. Softener sheets and mothballs didn't deter them so I ordered a couple of Rat Zappers and they thinned the herd significantly.

Hopefully your engine didn’t ingest any of the debris in the air box. If so it may not be as great of an outcome as you think. I had a cousin that had mice chew up an air filter in a lower mileage Honda Accord at it caused it to burn oil pretty rapidly.
