Before I take my truck to a mechanic Id like to be sure what to watch out for so I don't get screwed. So I will explain my issue.
On Wednesday when I got back to Las Vegas, my ac was working fine, very cold. I have never had an issue with it.
On Thursday I went out to start it and the ac was blowing hot. It doesn't seem like the compressor is kicking in.
I opened hood and it doesn't look like anything was spewing all over the place, belt is tight also.
I understand the first step would be to check the freon level and perhaps add some. Then determine if it gets cold.
If that does not work, what steps should be taken next, leading up to the horrible thought of replacing the compressor?
I appreciate any advice and/or help because I am a handicap woman 60+ and don't have thousands to spend getting this fixed.
