flowmaster muffler

i have '99 expedition 5.4 and i want to put in a flowmaster muffler just the muffler not the entire exhaust system and no fancy tip right now. i'm thinking between a super 40 or super 44 series how do they sound on these trucks ? and also how well does the expensive ass k&n fipk intake perform ? or is there any cheaper cai that works the same ?
