I have a 2002 Expedition and it has auto head lights. It has DRL's but it actually has the photo sensor on the dash to turn on the head lights. When it is in auto mode my fog lights don't turn on unless I go to the head lights on position and pull the switch to activate the fog lights. I was wondering if some one here has rewired it so that the fog lights turn on with the auto head lights in the auto function?

Thanks

I know on my silverado I did something like this to allow my low beams to stay on when I turn my high beams on along with my fog lights. If you can find the fuses and jumper power from the headlights to the fog lights with a diode this will achieve what you are looking for.

I did it with my Cobra so my fogs were on all the time and off with ignition off. Basically driving lights are my fogs instead of my high beams.

I just want to drive with me headlights and fogs on at the same time in auto.

You could wire it so that the head lamp relay energizes the fog lamp relay. I have a wiring manual for the 99s don't know if they changed wiring colors between the year. Let me know if you want to dig into it to see if they are the same.

Is your auto setting on the lights to the left or right of the off setting. If it is to the left, you might have to pull the switch back out when you have it in the auto setting. I think you should be able to leave the switch pulled out while in the auto position so the fog lights come on with the headlights. I know i can in mine.

ok. So I spliced the #5 wire (yellow) to the #7 wire (green/red) and my fog lights stay on all the time in the auto position. Even when the key is out of the ignition and locked. I am guessing that this may be different wiring when you have DRL's?

Or am I supposed to run a wire between #5 and #7 and not actually cut pin #5 and solder it to pin #7?

You didn't by chance figure out how to keep the fog lights on when you turn on your high beams?

edit: A little Googling gave me some ideas on how to do this. Will keep updated as time allows for the mod
