Platinum Trim .Don't think its there, at least I can't find it.Just wanted to make sure there wasn't an easy forescan tweak. I think there may be a way to hard wire it . Would like your thoughts.I"ll post later when Carol is back home from dog trial.
Thanks,
Ed

Sorry for the delayed response! I don't get on as often as I used to. Any luck?

I have added keys, but all when I already had 2 working factory keys. Sadly, you might need a dealer to accomplish this with FDRS.
Thanks for the reply. I received the factory keys and may give it a go. FORscan gives me the option to do it, after all. I have a locksmith friend as a backup. I should probably confirm he has the capability first.

Apologies if I missed this; also kind of resurrecting an old thread but it seems like the right place to ask…

I’ve recently become aware that on my 2015, the engine coolant temp (ECT) gauge is kind of a dummy gauge, and will show in the middle from like 190-235ish.

Meaning it won’t start to creep until I’m already approaching a potentially dangerous temp.

I’m soon going to be moving cross country, and will be towing a 24” enclosed trailer, loaded to around 8500lbs.

Is there a way to enable a numerical readout of ECT’s on the dash through FORScan? I’ve seen videos of it being enabled on newer vehicles but just wanted to check.

Yes, it should be doable. Not sure of the coding. You could also get a MX+ adapter, and use a Gauge app to monitor the real temp.

I use torque pro and mx+ adapter. Just make sure to enable the Ford extras. Just one screen of a few I can swipe through. Others have tpms by wheel etc.

I’ve looked and can’t find it or at least not sure what wording works in the search. Looking to change the time out on the power outlet/cigarette outlet on my 2017 xlt expi. I’ve found a spreadsheet but that option is not covered on it. Anyone know the code values to change or where to look? Thanks you!!

Quick question. I have a Nexiq usb link 3 wireless adapter that I have for heavy duty diesel data link connections. It has an obd2 port adapter, will this data port adapter work with forscan? It's not a cheap Chinese one, it was $800.

Give it a try and see if it works. I used a real no name cheap one before I got one of the suggested one. It worked but not all functions worked, so I upgraded.

Recently obtained my first Expy (2016 Platinum), coming from 17 Expl Platinum. This may sound ridiculous, but I absolutely hate that my mirrors don't autofold like my Expl did. I obtained the spreadsheet for the '15+ FORScan codes, and have read livinitup's spreadsheet on the 150's. Curious to see if anyone has tried activating autofold on the expy, if even possible? Thanks!

Your missing the actual powerfold motors on the mirrors. You would have to replace your OEM mirrors with powerfold mirrors, install the appropriate wire harness, and then find the specific FORScan line(s) to change/enable powerfold. It may be possible, but very difficult...not a simple 'enable'.

The truck has powerfolding mirrors, just controlled by the mirror joystick, so that's why I'm tring to find a way to have them automatically fold/unfold upon locking/re-entry like my explorer did.

I've spent many days searching this forum and taking notes. 2024 Limited 4x4 HD Tow. Today I plugged in my Forscan, made a backup, and spent about 2 hours going through every submenu and making changes to what I think were clear upgrades as written in the easy-configuration options. Turned off everything labled chimes/minders. Despite all the research, I was unable to find many desired items in the menus, and coming back to the forum I can't find the exact location/names of how to modify the following, hoping some friendly voices might chime in and tell me specifically where to look:

*Disable chime – vehicle running with door open

*Disable seatbelt overview screen on gauge cluster

*When moving turn signal slightly, change from 3 blinker activations to 6

*Possible to have passenger running board come down but disable drivers? If not, has anyone physically unplugged one before?

*Disable, in reverse, "pedestrian/automatic braking turned off" warning

*Disable navigation/screen/app/settings lockout in motion (so passenger can change settings while vehicle is on the road). Android Auto also limits inputs now

*Don’t unfold mirrors when tailgate or other doors unlocked/opened, only unfold on driver door opening

*Remember last drive mode (Sport, Tow, etc)

*Disable auto wipers when transmission in neutral (car wash)

I understand some of these will not be an option, but I think many are and I just am not recognizing the verbage.

A few are probably impossible like:
passenger running board come down but disable drivers
Don’t unfold mirrors
Remember last drive mode
Disable auto wipers when transmission in neutral

The rest may be found under the pcm section

Any recs as to which OBD link unit is currently the recommended/best? Thanks.
My Son has this one and it works great:
OBDLink EX
I have this one and it works equally as well:
Vgate vLinker FS
There are others, but some don't work correctly and you don't get the full benefit of Forscan.

OBDLink EX if you want hard wired like @Mr Big mentioned. OBDLink MX+ if you want BT. I use the MX+ 90% of the time. My Mongoose cable when doing real work. My EX sees very little use since I got the Mongoose.

The advantage of the MX+ is being able to use apps on your phone to monitor sensors also.
