I used FORScan and turned the AS/S off. I have never looked back. The Expy has been back to the dealer for warranty work and they either haven’t noticed or don’t care.

It’s a stupid system, I wouldn’t advise anyone to keep it enabled. Comments below are gold. The one start stop equipped vehicle owner had a built in savings tracker and broke it down. If you own the vehicle 200k miles the fuel saved won’t cover 1 (ONE) starter replacement. And you’ll likely be replacing them MORE. Not to mention the increased wear on engine while oil pressure is low. So to be green, you are saving a tiny fraction of fuel.....to manufacture and produce more starters, and wear out engines quicker so you have to manufacture a new one.....isn’t that green at its finest? LOL.

This system needs to be buried and forgotten. Let’s get rid of it and move on.

I agree, it's distracting at stop lights. I hear that damned starter on nearly every car/ light truck. It makes you jump a little, and possibly hit the gas, not cool. We had this conversation about 2 months back, if I order a new truck, which I'm considering, I want mine disconnected, whether by Ford or me. It's not an emmisions item, or anything that disconnected would cause damage to the motor or trans, actually just the opposite. I can bet the parts Dept has a butt load of replacement starters on their shelves, probably 6-10 instead of the normal 1-3! Glad to read it can be easily bypassed, I'll bet a bunch of our members will disarm theirs, I know I would.

There is a button, the problem is it resets and the members on here dont wanna press the button or put it in sportmode on every cycle. It doesnt bother me, except when it shuts off on short stops like quick red to greens or stop n go. if it does i just put it in sprt mode, hit the button, or lift off the brake before a complete stop.

In my opinion tech in cars such as drivers assist are significantly more dangerous than talking on a phone while driving.

Too many people often learn to rely on unproven tech.... pretty much the equivalent to the pullout method. Works most the time, but one slip and....

The tsb that came out for it didn't fix it to when you shut it off it settings it doesn't come back?

Sport mode for the win lol.

They need to up the fine for regular class c driver's like they do with me commercial for cell phones. $2700.00 vs $175.00 that would keep em off their cell.

Being as I started this thread can I add one more "IDIOTIC GOVERNMENT REGULATION" that's not car related HOPEFULLY with out upsetting the MOD'S running the site ,We built a new modular home going on 3 years ago AND I did an insulation upgrade TO R (50) in the roof and R (21) in the walls AND being as new homes are SO AIR TIGHT the government "REQUIRES" AN OUTSIDE MAKE UP AIR SUPPLY DUCT, (8) inch in my case, from the out side of the home to the return side of the forced air furnace blower ,SO what is the point of having a tight / energy efficient house when your going to bring in OUTSIDE AIR that can be as low as -25 below where we live and burn gas heating that - (25) below out side air up to 72 degrees, BTW, with 2 exhaust fan's in the master bathroom & 1 in the guest bathroom plus the exhaust fan on the range along with a GAS fireplace that has no damper we will never suffocate, BTW, I took Gorilla glue black tape and closed off the out side intake on the (8) inch duct going to the furnace, GOD I HATE SOME OF OUR GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS AND THE CLUELESS CUBICAL MIND "DESK" jockey's who come up with this crap OR as Ronald Reagan jokingly said, "I FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND I'M HERE TO HELP".

Atleast there is the button. My company work car is a 2017 chevy cruise, it has no button. So I put it manual and just hit + to 6th gear. It's a pain, but better than the auto off. Especially when it's 90+ degrees out and it shuts the ac off at stops.

My family is in construction and we do larger scale projects such as apartment complexes and planned communities like patio homes. Many of the regulations are complete stupidity. One of our favorites is double vapor barrier walls.....a plastic sheet on the inside and tyvek on the outside. That way when water gets in the wall it molds and rots the whole thing inside out nice and quick instead of you finding it sooner. We are building these things so tight these days toxins from building products, furniture etc stick around in the home and make people sick. Air can’t turn over fast enough and toxins stick around and cause allergies, sickness, even cancer. We are no longer using copper for water supplies and now use plastic......cheaper but the plastic has zero antimicrobial properties like copper and we are injesting BPA’s over time with our water. Its human nature we solve one problem to create 3 others.

Anyways enough of my negative attitude here lol.

Why would they care? It's your car. If my dealer ever brings it up, I'll be sure to remind them of that.

As far as the outside air supply, you use an air exchanger to preheat the incoming air with the outgoing air. As stated above there's a lot of bad for you stuff used inside a house and keeping the house in a positive pressure is another advantage.

When we built our home, we had a half-hot outlet installed for the air handler power--the always hot for the air handler itself, and the switched side (using a switch in the closet below) powering the fresh-air intake to the furnace. We live in AZ, to the opposite applied to us: we didn't want 120° outside air introduced into our system. IF we want the fresh air, we have the option of turning switch on. In two years, it's always been "off." The other thing is that we had to run another fresh air inlet whenever the range hood was "on," as it moved so much air out.

Why don't you move to New York? Here in the downstate region it's illegal to modify the auto-engine-stop. They simply confiscate the car and after paying the fines and towing (has to be towed since driving it that way is a crime against the earth) you get it back all banged up with bald tires.

I live in NY as well, our state govt is corrupt and useless. A political party I won’t name has had control of NY for 55-60 years and population continues to decline, industry left, been in shambles. Yet people still vote Cuomo and his party in, as if their track record will ever change.....empty promises and more govt assistance/ handouts is all they offer. Hindering business and industry (progress) is what they do best. So many ridiculous laws on the books here.
