CaptOchs, what is the weight of the trailer in your photo? Year of the Expedition?
Dr0idattack, what is the weight of your trailer and year model of your Expedition?
Expy is a 2013 Limited with Tow Package. The trailer is a Riverside Retro 265RB/BH. I haven’t weighed the whole trailer loaded, but I weighed hitch weight and got closer to 700 or a little under.

Thanks. We have a 33' rockwood ultralite and are wanting to get an expedition to pull it. At the moment we are using a 1 ton van which does great, but I need to replace my older Tahoe and am looking at the expeditions. Trailer is about 8300-8500# loaded, tongue weight about 10%.
So I'm trying to see what everyone is using...year models, etc. Looking at either a 2017 or waiting for a 2018 with a proper rear end to become available.
So I have located the following, seems encouraging to meet the requirements several folks have posted about in regards to pulling our 33' Rockwood Ultra Lite.
2018 Exp Max XL, 4x4
HD towing package
Payload 1924#, 3.73 diff
10 spd trans.
This seems to meet the concerns expressed in regards to not overloading, and still be able to pull the trailer.
My 07 Carson fun runner, unfortunately I do not have a picture with the Expedition......yet
2017 XLT EL with a 2019 Jayco 267BHS
Just get a good WDH with trunion bars, like an Equal-I-zer. I don’t recommend an Anderson chain based hitch for Expeditions, but people like them for other trucks.
First towing adventure with our new 19...
Here we go.
Here is my setup with an '01 Expy
