I just had a TV show on called Living Alaska and they were driving in a new Expedition to look at a new home to buy. The camera showed the 3 people in the expedition driving up the gravel driveway that appeared well graded. The camera captured footage of all 3 of the occupants of the 4th gen doing NASTY BOBBLEHEAD! It literally looked painful, they each violently slammed left and right 3 times. This just proves to me that the people that don't complain about this, just don't pay attention or something. It was a 4th Gen Limited on 20" wheels I believe. It reminds me of driving my wifes 18 Navigator with the factory sway bars on it. barf.

That's funny as heck! Thanks Deadman for the laugh. It's exactly how I felt in my recent F150 loaner vehicle.

OK, now my backordered sway bar order has been cancelled.
Any suggestions on were to order from?
Thanks

My real truck.com order was cancelled despite me telling them it was okay if it’s back ordered.

I ordered the rear from autoaccessoriesgarage and they kept the order open after asking me if I wanted to wait.

I just ordered the front through autoanything..

I had to pester real truck to cancel mine that was placed with them last week. Was the hardest order I have ever placed online to get cancelled. So I guess I should have asked them to keep the order instead to result in it being cancelled. Haha.

Unfortunately modern vehicles get ultra designed around handling characteristics with ride comfort a secondary factor / cost consideration.

Stiffer sway bars have negatives also.

Ummm what??? A stiffer sway bar on this SUV is going to give better handling characteristics and is the whole point of everyone that is changing to such in this thread...

It also impacts suspension articulation and the handling characteristics when traction limits are found. Engineers don’t pick sway bars based on seat of the pants measuring.

The 3rd or 4th drive I took in our new '20 Limited Max I noticed the rear end bouncing up and down like one of my kids on the couch.

If going sway bars negates this up and down motion, seems like a must have for the trucks.

up and down sounds more like the shocks/struts. Any chance those are bad already on your '20? The sway is more the side to side motion (as others have described the bobble head effect).

I sure hope not with only 4k miles on it.

I will install the sway bars and re-assess.

Thats not sway bar. I noticed it also. I think its a factor of the suspension tune spring rates and shock tuning. Likely a suspension tuning aspect to reduce the typical Large SUV / Truck rear wheel hop on rough surfaces also likely plays into the suspension travel. It does take some getting use to, especially if your coming from a solid rear axle Truck/SUV or car that doesn’t exhibit the hobby horse type effect.
Sport mode seems to tighten it up with the CCD system.

Yes, I drive a pick-up and our previous suv/cuv before this was a CX9. Definitely having to get use to driving a school bus.

Not in this case. These Expeditions handle like complete dog$hit before the Hellwig sway bar.

Do you realize what Sport mode does? It stiffens the internal shock valving to slow down the weak springs and the horrible shock rebound valving. You do realize that a stiffer sway bar borrows spring rate from the other side to support the opposite side resulting in a stiffer spring rate and limiting the up/down rebound BS because it never blows thru the travel and needs to spring all the way back up and toss the vehicle around.

The sway bar borrows spring rate from the opposite side netting in stiffer spring rates overall. The bar eliminates a bunch of the up down stupid behaviors the Expedition has prior to the bar.
