I have always been a fan of Motocraft. Granted they are going to cost a little more. But I feel that the OEM quality of the Motocraft outperforms the aftermarket brands.
A buddy of mine was a parts dood for a local Ford dealership for several years and had a number of horror stories about customers using various aftermarket brands.
You can also think of it this way, have the Motocraft plugs done you well so far? If so, why change?

I just put 8 motorcraft plugs in my expedition last weekend, 72k on it. took about 2 hours and only broke 1 plug, had the removal tool handy. it runs a lot better now I would recommend changing them sooner than 100k miles.

I just did mine a few weeks ago. It took 2 hours and I didn't break any. I only have 55k miles but I wanted to do them early. I used the motorcraft plugs. I made sure I blew out the holes before I pulled the plugs and used the WD40 penetrating spray. I turned the plugs out slowly and worked them back and forth. Then blew he holes out again before the plug was all the way out. When I started the truck up after I was done it blew a lot of smoke but it fired right up and it running great.

I had mine changed out in my 07 at around 100k. The mechanic scolded me and said that while the plugs may be ok, they get corroded to the head (dissimilar metals going on there). I think they broke 2 or 3 (at the dealer no less!).

Moral to the story, change them before 100k!

I thought that the 08 heads already used the 1 piece plugs?

Early 08 has the crappy plug design. I think it changed about midway through the year. My 08 still has the two piece plugs. I picked up a set of the one piece replacements when I did mine.

What is the part number for the one piece replacement ones and are they motorcrafts? I'm assuming these are better for the 07 5.4l as well.

I think it's HT15. I picked them up at Rock Auto. It should be the same for 07's. I put the same plugs in our 06 GT.
