I have 75,000 miles on my 2015. Just changed the spark plugs today for the first time cause I’ve had a miss and rough idle. Fixed it. No other problems so far. I’ve only owned it for less than a year tho

Pretty easy plug change? Which ones did you end up using and what gap?

It was easy...worst part of it is my ratchet driver slipped and I broke the handle off my oil dipstick...so now I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to get it out to replace it [emoji51]

I used the FoMoCo SP-534 plugs. I gapped them to .030. The old ones were way more than that...

Those are some pretty good looking plugs from what I can see(I really like to see the band at the bottom of the porcelain) for a Turbo engine with 75K. You can see the ash from the additives in the fuel package on the plug electrode but zero carbon in the fire zone, zero evidence of detonation or lean-burning.....overall, I'd say your engines is in pretty decent shape Muddy. A bit of TB cleaner might have been warranted prior to swapping the plugs but you know what you're doing.....

My '11 Expy has the v8.
My '15 Transit 250 (work van) has the Ecoboost. 77k miles and still flawless.

I too wonder about the longevity of the turbo engine. Will they be reliable to 300k like the v8s?

One thing to consider. A engine that works harder and and turns more RPMs, will fail sooner. To produce "V8" power the EcoB, revs higher than Trition 5.4l. Running it on "boost" is adding another element of stress to the mix. The modest fuel savings, does not make it, that appealing.

Incorrect, forced induction motors do not have to rev higher. The primary wear is the higher cylinder pressures. That being said I don't wish to argue, but that statement is not correct.

Here we go...I did not say they "have" to rev higher. The V6 must rev higher to produce V8 power. What the hell, is cylinder pressure wear? The original thread asked if a EcoB will be reliable as the 5.4l.

Hmmm not .028? A lot of what I have read says they should be .028
