My personal opinion of the two body styles.

I like the 1st gen. body style the best, but the interior is much nicer in the 2nd gens.

almost everyone...i dont care for lifted expeditions...now F150's....i'm with that...i'll take and expedition with 24s or 26s any day...then the F150 can go either way with me...24s/26s or lifted on 33's...

Not to stir the pot but here is my opninion.

If you can afford a newer body style expi, then of course your gonna love the new body style. Im sorry but if you really liked the look of the 1st gen. and had the money to buy an 07+ wouldnt you?

As far as the street scene is concerend, well, been there done that. Big rims = problems. I know some of you younger folks might think other wise, but Im only 29 and have had them all. The last thing I will ever do is put anything over 22" on low pros on a car/truck again. From experience.

yeah i like big rims but only to a point. rubber band tires make me laugh. one pot hole and a nice $700 rim is down the toilet. and what really bugs me is 20+ rims on big mud tires! like toyos. and they are only 35s. it just looks dumb to me. only way a 20" rim looks good with a big tire is with a 44" tire. cause thats how they make them. i saw a 42" tire with a 15 rim. it looked like a dime! so funny! so a 20 is okay there. and i still wouldnt buy a new gen ex. been in the 3rd gen and its nothing special. more plastic everywhere and i think mine rides better. even with the solid rear.

well...i'm 33 yrs old...LOVE RIMS...had them on a lot of cars...i've had no probs with rims nor my 24s...if youre buying those cheap rims...where you get a set of rims/tires for $1500...then yeah you'll have probs...i do pay for name brand because of history of quality behind them...there are flukes that get by...i've encountered one prob with my 24s...nothing regarding tires, suspension, ride quality, or ect...my ride sucks right now on stocks...totally different...handling is worst and steering sucks...but with the rims...OUTSTANDING

then my wife is riding with 20s on her 05 altima...

My personal opinion is that I like the 1st gens better, I have always thought that trucks should have chrome steel bumpers, or painted steel bumpers for folks with blacks X's :), I think the gen 1 just looks more rugged, 2wd or 4wd. I do think the gen 2 and 3s are nice vehicles, more refined and the plastic exterior does help with fuel mileage, but it just does not rock my world, I would not mind having a newer one, but I still like the look and feel of the gen 1

I also like the 1st gens the most. I think they look great with lifts. The newer gens look better for street trucks, but i'm not much into trucks that aren't used off pavement. I do wish i had the motors that are in the newer gens though.

O ME TOO! these motors were great for the time but the new 6.2 is just crazy! but i never been in one. just a friend said it was. my gfs dads f150 has the 3v and i love that power. all stock... well its the fx2 edition. not sure if that makes a difference. but damn i wish i had that acceleration. i drove it and went back to mine and was sad. :( haha gotta do the e-fans soon. that will help a lot hopefully too.

my favorite expy I have ever seen was a pearl white 2nd gen. I think it was a limited... best looking expy IMO. I like the 2nd gen headlights and grille the best I think. Found a vid with one that looks similar.

Imho, as a gen 3 owner, gen 3's are ugly...

Interesting note, once parked next to a buddy's 2nd gen Navigator, and after careful comparison came away with the suspicion that 3rd Gen expy = 2nd Gen Navi with a different grille/bumper combo... every single line, interior and exterior, is frikkin identical.

Give me a first gen for the 4-link solid rear axle, full frame, and 2WD/A4WD selection.

Though I do have a 2nd or 3rd gen front end swap planned.
