Supposedly no need for another module.

Next step is get your key cut.

Then presuming you already have 2 functioning keys. You program your 3rd key using these steps.

Now we are one to the questionable part. Someone posted in the ForScan thread that they successfully added the remote start. Unfortunately they never returned and talked about what modules and digits they changed.

I have located this video. The only rub is that it is NOT an Expedition.
Though the first way he does it in the video is changing the plain English settings (so THEORETICALLY it should work the same) the second way is likely vehicle specific so unless you are really good with ForScan and have a great understanding of the Expedition modules I would not even bother trying the module and digit change.

I have not had the chance to fool with remote start yet and likely won’t until I get the upgraded suspension figured out.

But I do not see why using the plain English programming just choosing enable from disable drop down box won’t work.

Good luck. Looking forward to seeing if you get it working.

Very sorry for the late reply
Many thanks and appreciation for your help
I tried a lot with the IDS Ford and ForScan software and I activated the remote start operation but it did not work and did not appear in the Dash screen

I have a friend who does her work on the following cars
Ford Expedition 2015 to 2018
Ford Explorer from 2013 to 2015
Ford Taurus 2014 to 2017

But did not want to help me
It is programming and adding a new key that has remote start only

I just came here to say, I did what the video does (turn the remote start on in Forscan) and had 2 remote start keys cut and we now have remote start on our 2017 EL XLT. No modules were required.

Where did you get your keys?

Wondering if you've had the time to check the plain English, and verify there is a option to enable the remote start? If so that tells me the module must all ready be in the vehicles.

I would much rather do this method than buy a kit for $150.

Has not been cold enough for me to bother with it yet. But will shortly.
The above poster says he followed the video above so I presume the plain English works just fine.

The OP in message #5 says his did not work? It's been getting in the low 30's here, with a few frost alrdy. I haven't looked yet in the bcm to see if I have the remote start option. When I get time I will. If the option is there, then I'll try to find some remote keys @eBay. If it don't work, worst I'll be out is the key & cutting cost, but will have a couple more spare keys atleast.

It would be nice to have a link, to where the latest poster purchased his keys. Hopefully he will post back up soon.

I don't know how, but I missed the post # 8 with the key link...

Also I just checked, and the option to enable remote start is in forscan for me!

I picked up 2 keys from Amazon for $40 that had the remote start button. The dealer told my wife when they were programming them that the remote start would not work without some extra parts. I told her to ignore them...

I'm confused, if you we're able to follow the video showing how to enable remote start using FORScan, what was the issue with programing the keys your self? Also did your dealer cut the new keys as well, if so what was the total charge for programing and or cutting?

When we bought our Expedition used it only came with one key, otherwise I would of programmed the keys myself. They charged my $60 to cut and program the 2 keys that I bought on Amazon.

If FORSCAN shows the plain English option then your modules should support it. Won’t show if it doesn’t. Have Keys cut, and make sure they are the correct Remote Start version of the Key for your year. Then add key to vehicle and start should work.

I'm ready to give this a try, since I do have the plain English option. What get's me about the video link from Nick the car guy, he also has a video showing how to install the hardwired kit, on what looks like the same Ford Fusion?

But he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, check out his video on keyless entry code! Specifically he's explanation on the possibilities of the codes, once it's revealed in FORScan.
