I tried this the tonight and could not get it to work or calibrate. I followed the directions, my mirrors never tilted down. Has anyone else confirmed this works?

Thanks,
Hello twernst
On my Expy 2018 Platinum it works fine :)
You must calibrate the mirrors first.
Try this after the first calibration: put your gear in reverse, push the button for your desired mirror and than it works also.

I will have to try the calibration again, as I tried it both ways you outline. The mirror never tilted down during the "calibration" as you outline. Perhaps it has something to do with market geographic settings. I have had this feature in all my other vehicles in the past 10+ years so I was very surprised to see it not on the Plat '18 Expy.

Did you do any other mods like Forscan to get this to work, or just the calibration first?

Has anyone else done it successfully here in the states?

Can someone tell me if the extended license for FORScan would work with a windows tablet, such as the Surface? I have Macs and need to buy a Windows platform and am trying to decide between a budget laptop or something that might have future value. Right now the only thing “pc” will do is FORScan related.

Got my OBD scanners this week and was hoping to take advantage of the “Black Friday” deals tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank @17LimitedExpy @rcompart and everyone else who has and still is contributing to the Forscan thread.

As a direct result of those contributions I'm finally able to stop ruining my underwear from ******** myself, everytime I get out of the expedition while it's running, and closing the door, with the fob in my pocket.

Additionally, disabled the Auto Start/Stop, even though it would seem reasonable, that I would be used to it by now, or second nature to push the button after starting the engine, I continue to forget, and my blood pressure spikes, momentarily, as I stop at an intersection/red light, until I realize, I forgot to disable it after starting the vehicle.

To complete the trifecta, I enabled auto relock, when the vehicle has not been breached once unlocked.
I was pleased to learn that the truck is programmed from the Factory to lock out the transmission selector, unlike on some other models where they were not, at least according to forum lore.

Just want to confirm this method does work. I have a 2018 Limited that I just programmed to do this on. Neither of my mirrors tilted at all when I tried the first time. I did notice my passenger side mirror flicker or click like it wanted to move but it never tilted down. My first attempt was on the driver side and it didn't work at all. It just saved the setting in the down position and never went back. I went to try the passenger side with the same instructions from above and it worked. Then when I clicked back to the drivers side, it worked as well.

A little odd but it did finally work. Only thing I hate is that you have to hit the button to get it to lower. It doesn't automatically do it when you put the car in reverse. I'm wondering if there is an override for this in FORSCAN so it will automatically tilt when in reverse without hitting the button?

Has anyone tried connecting with a ‘19 Expedition? I get a message saying “Unable to identify the vehicle”. I’m using version 2.3.18 beta.

Just want to confirm this method does work..

I'm having trouble piecing the steps from the previous posts, so I'll ask; how did you do this? I could not get it to work on my 2018 Expedition Limited.

...I just programmed to do this on...

What do you mean by "programmed", performing the calibration steps mentioned in your quote, or were there module changes via FORScan?

I did attempt the calibration, but it didn't help.

Thanks,
Dennis

It should work with a surface. They are full fledged PCs. I just did some programming in FORScan using my 2013 MacBook air running windows 7 in parallels without problem....the program doesn't need a ton of computing power and you might be able to save yourself some money...although must say the surface is a pretty enticing platform.

Question Viewing texts - Is there some way to code on the ability to read texts while driving?

I know it sounds stupid but I get work texts requiring a response and they come with a ton of code attached to them. Kinda funny listening to Sync3 read them, but also annoying! I just need to quick check if from work or not from work and don't want to listen to it read a 1 minute+ message.

Would it be the same code as "remove speed limit for navigation keyboard" coding that also disables the 911 calls? If so not worth the trade off IMO...if I'm reading texts then I want the car to call 911 when I eat a tree...

Also thank you all as well for posting all the coding help - just turned off the double honk, auto start/stop, and added the soft climate buttons for the seats to my home screen....total thumbs up!!!

This does not require FORSCAN. This is done just as ACPO_P25 described in his post.

Try this for Reverse Tilt Mirror Calibration (instructions from PlatinumOwner from F150 Forum):

1) Switch the ignition on
2) Press the memory button
3) Select the mirror you want to adjust (the left or right button to adjust the mirror)
4) Put your vehicle into reverse (R) and let the mirror automatically tilt until it stops (neither or my mirrors moved. I had to tilt them to the desired position.)
5) When the mirror is in its tilted position and is no longer moving, adjust it with the controls
6) Hold the memory button for 5 seconds to save the setting
7) Press the mirror button and return to park (P) (left or right mirror button that you are controlling.)
8) Hold memory button again

I followed these instructions and it did not work the first time. After I tried for a second time, it worked. It's a little quirky but this process did work for me.
