2022 Expedition - Schedule for production ?

After months of being passed over I switched from platinum to limited performance in March.

Not sure I understand that statement. They started building the 2022s only around Feb middle. So by march, you may have been passed over just a couple of weeks at most

I placed the order with dealer in January and by end of March I still didn't have an order confirmation.

If the risk of the recall or frequency make you uncomfortable, I would suggest a different brand.
I hear GM and Toyota make full size SUV’s also, take a look at those.

Gm has the same issue as ford in terms of bldg suvs, maybe even worst. The new sequoia(and armada) is giving up too much space, and the wagoneer is far from reliable. If your gonna look elsewhere, better know what ur getting into with the other brands as well.

I couldn't buy a Wagoneer simply for the fact that it's a Fiat Chrysler (Stellantis ?) product. Growing up, my dad owned a slew of Chrysler products and they were horrible.

I owned one GM product (Tahoe) and I'll never buy one of those again.

i'll be honest, i was being a bit sarcastic in my post.
So many people bash ford quality or recalls, but don't consider what other brands bring to the table. They should take a more educated approach and compare the other brands, then pick one they want.
Same thing with the supply chain issues, the arm chair quarterbacks always have better ideas how to "fix" things.

GM makes better looking vehicles; but they are less reliable than ford.
Toyota maybe makes more reliable SUV's; But are severely lacking in technology updates.

Just got build week moved from 6/6 to 6/20. The silliness begins.

Now showing In Production with a Window Sticker. Now we only have to wait 43 years on a train.

My build week has been set at 6/20 for a while and never changed. I called Marketing a couple days and got an update that it was now refined to a build date of 6/26. I checked the site today and it says in production! I'm hoping that means it'll be done here in a couple days, and that I don't actually have to wait until the 27th-ish. Then, yeah, shipping.

Agreed. The kicker for me was the never ending lifter issues the late LS/LT motors have had. It's clearly unfixable. Once GM added the DOD functionality to their motors, reliability declined. I thought turbos were a silly solution at first because of the added parts. Now, I'm a believer. I'd rather have extra parts outside of the engine rather than inside the engine. GM will be introducing a line of turbo motors in the next couple of years. Hopefully, they'll go away from the fancy lifters, although I doubt it. They're using that crap AFM on their newish 2.7L I-4 turbo motor that is fantastic outside of that. I have 200K on my 2016 Ecoboost Expedition. I feel pretty good about doing it again, but of course, only with mid-cycle refreshes.

Mine has been 'In Production' for a week now. From what I understand it moves to that status about a week before they actually start to build it. What you want to look for on the Ford tracking sight is a date under/next to the 'In Production'. On the ordertrack.app sight you want to see a date under Blend Date. So, you want to see one of these two (or both) dates. Also from the ordertrack.app site you can click on the View Modules link and when you start to see modules listed they are really building it.

Mine was "in production" for 6 days before it was built. I jinxed myself though by talking about it on here. 5/18 got an email "Your vehicle has been built. Current estimate for delivery June 11-17th". Yay!

Then a few minutes later, another email. The estimated arrival date of your vehicle has been updated. October 6-12th. The original plan was to have a 4wd kid hauler by the time the snow flies, looks like we'll be cutting it close! I'm guessing it's sitting in a big parking lot somewhere in Kentucky, awaiting something like a wiper motor.

Imo, not rele. Any car from any brand van have problems or none at all. Also, one issue from a car may not be much of a concern to one, but to a other, they are constantly turning it in for said issue. It's just luck of the draw, so it's just best to get what fits ur needs and hope for the best.

Sat in chip hold purgatory for just over 2 months and was finally built and the email had ETA of week of June 26 and got another email this week pushing back ETA to week of July 17. Crazy considering my original scheduled build week was week of 2/14 with ETA of March 6. Going to be one of the first ones scheduled and last to get their vehicle.

yes, but it is a weighted draw though. Like loaded dice. Some sides appear on top more frequently.

But yes, I agree with your sentiment that you could get lucky and have no problems with a un-reliable brand. Or you could be unlucky and have lotsa problems with a reliable brand.
But if you wanna leave luck aside, then which brand would you go with; knowing that some brands on average have higher probability of reliability problems.
