When I built my rancher I changed my blueprints from a 2 car to a 4 car garage with 12 foot ceilings and 9 foot double doors. I still wish I had more garage space. I even poured a grade beam in the slab right down the center of all 4 bays for a 2 post lift to set on in the future. I’ve got way too many vehicles and toys to have them pile up outside. We never had a garage growing up as a kid but now I couldn’t cope without one. I was still single when I built it so I didn’t have anyone to persuade me otherwise.

I would love a garage with a lift. At this point in my life and the plans my wife and I have after retirement, that will never come to fruition.
Yes they do. The locking mechanism pushes the flap in and reseals it with its own seal.

I lived through the 70's when everyone had to have a locking gas cap or they had an empty tank come morning if they were parked outside. Since there were just so many key patterns made more resourceful thieves would buy a bunch of gas caps then go around the neighborhoods matching a key to the cap and just remove the cap.

When I bought new my third generation 2015 Expedition, I bought a Motorcraft locking gas cap (called a plug), as I didn’t care for the capless design. It came with two metal keys.
I don’t know if Motorcraft makes a locking cap / plug for the 4th generation models.
You cannot siphon fuel from the filler neck. There is a screen that would prevent a hose from reaching the tank. What the thieves do is drill a hole in the bottom of the tank and drain the fuel into a container.

If I remember correctly from the wiring diagrams, the Chinese market gets an electric locking fuel door.

I actually turned one down that my cousin got rid of that was like new. I could’ve got a great deal on it but at the time I didn’t want to lose one of my garage door openers that have a rail that runs right down the middle of the double doors. I probably should’ve designed my garage with a double and two single doors so I could dedicate one bay for a lift. Maybe in the future when I retire I’ll make it work with a different style overhead door setup.
I thought the same thing. Most modern cars have that screen or a backflow preventer (tip over) valve to prevent gas pouring out in a rollover.
All the more reason to back into spots. Esp with the ground clearance these things have. Makes them prime targets.

I guess people will have to put heavy skid plates over their tanks and while they are at it put catalytic converter guard shields on also. With not only gas prices skyrocketing but also food, housing, and inflation overall, people become desperate. Desperate people do desperate things. How did we get here? Oh that’s right, there was an election.
FYI, I live in a seaside gated community already. It gets very hot during the summer in Florida. While it was parked outside recently I have checked the inside compartment temp of the Expy with a digital thermal scanner and the dash alone was reading 171/176 degrees, it was partially overcast too! Doing a pre-start doesn't even begin to cool it down without going down and fully starting the vehicle and setting the air to max cooling and opening the rear door. This is hot enough to ruin anything left inside the truck. Besides, I don't care for the film the salt air leaves on my Expy or the dust and sand the lawn mowers, ect. blow on it. It belongs in the garage when parked but I do have enough respect for my family and I and others living nearby to park it away from others. Just in caseIf you own a new Expedition, you can afford a move to a better neighborhood.I haven't even locked my car doors in 15 years.
We've had a 2-car garage the last 2 houses (~18 years) and I think between us we parked in the garage less than 5 times.
What's a 2A friendly state? The neighborhood is decent and quiet, the area is questionable but I saw my vehicle being scoped out today so idk it's stressful for sureI didn't assume anything; you said there are people destroying vehicles right out in front of your house. That's not a great neighborhood. We had that where I grew up as well. It was mostly a quiet, safe neighborhood, but it wasn't great. And we didn't live in 2A Friendly state like you do, so you have people doing it in spite of great odds that they'll be shot in the act.
I don't think so. Growing up my mom had one on her car and kept losing the keys to it.

He’s talking about a 2nd amendment friendly state (the right to bear arms). He’s trying to make a point that (in his opinion) law abiding citizens bearing arms doesn’t deter crime. The one point he is missing though is a good guy (law abiding citizen, police officer, military, etc….) with a gun, is always what stops the bad guys. The right to bear arms may not always deter crime, but guns in the right hands will stop crime. We are always gonna have criminals that have/get guns…… making more gun laws to stop criminals is useless because criminals have no intentions of following laws. Criminals need more consequences, but if they are stealing for hard drug money, unfortunately they don’t care about consequences , they only care about their next fix. If people think there aren’t any junkies that live or travel in good neighborhoods then they are naïve. Take a famous person named “Hunter” for a prime example.
Oh ok. The most they'd get is a booster seat from mine. I keep it cleaned out. It's so crazy to me though. Where I grew up wasn't the best but wasn't the worst either and I saw it happen bay a young age including people I knew growing up, very sad.

Yes it is, and by us not enforcing border laws we a letting drug traffickers literally walk right in. It’s all connected, more street drugs, more junkies, more crime. Then we also are plagued with less police and more restrictions put on law abiding gun owners combined with States Attorneys who are soft on criminals. All these problems along with high inflation shows why there is such a crime wave happening. You said it, very sad we got here.

Ford has not released anything new regarding the fire recall. It's absolutely rediculous. It's been six weeks. They owe us an update at the least.
