That Ecosport will likely be replaced by the Puma once it makes the trip over the Atlantic next year. So worry not, for a better looking Subcompact SUV is on the way.

As for the Manuals, I know its blasphemy to say this but Manuals are becoming a thing of the past... Less than 14% of the C7 Corvettes sold were manuals. I just don't see manuals sticking around for more than 10 years aside from Sports cars but even they are switching to Dual-clutch, Autos etc.

With regards to the 3.5 Ecoboost being the only engine option for the Expy, I feel your pain.. But fear not, (Rumor) for as I understand it this will change with either the upcoming refresh or next generation. The base Expy will probably stick with the 3.5 TT pushing 375/400hp and will likely have a 5.0 upgrade pushing somewhere along the lines of 450hp seeing as the next gen Raptor will likely dump the 3.5 altogether in favor of the 5.0/5.2 in preparation for the upcoming battle with the Ram 1500 TRX.

I don’t see Ford dumping the Ecoboost, the new 3.0 will likely be the replacement for the 3.5. A new V8 option maybe possible, but not dumping their current powertrain altogether.

You do realize the 3.5 ecoboost is priced as an upgrade from the 5.0 V-8 in F-150 options? That shows where Ford ranks the motors.

Yep, Ford ranks the 3.5 as an upgrade from the 5.0. They do rank the 6.2 as a step up however as it was a $2,000 upcharge over the Ecoboost when it was available on the F-150 but now it’s only available in the F-250 and up. The 5.0 has always been a step below the 3.5, and the 3.5 is top now.

The way Ford views it from top tier down for trucks is:

6.7 PowerStroke V8
New 7.3L “Godzilla” V8
6.2L Boss V8
3.5 EcoBoost V6
5.0L V8
2.7 EcoBoost V6
3.3L V6

yada yada...

Ford is powering the new F-250 Tremor with the new gas 7.3, should be a power wagon killer!

Nonsense. In 2017 the F150 had rebate on the Ecoboost. I don't know about 2018/2019. The reg non turbo 3.5 is the base engine, the 2.7l and 3.5lEB is all that is on the lots. The V8's are in demand and harder to find. Meanwhile GM and Ram, selling V8 pickups like crazy. Ford should give the Expedition buyers an option.

It’s not nonsense it’s their internal product structure and how they set up packages and pricing. The 5.0 is a $1,000 upcharge over the 2.7 Ecoboost but is a step below the 3.5 in pricing.
