My 2003 5.4 EB Expedition has sat idle since June of 2022 and I'm wondering...
What items should be checked and/or what if any fluids should be changed at this point before I get her back on the road again?
She has been garaged so the elements aren't a variable.
Thank you in advance for your...
I'm constantly getting pools of fluid in the spark plug port wells so I started wondering.
Is it possible to drill weep holes that will allow any fluid to drain out of the wells?
I'm tired of chronically shorting COPs and/or fouled plugs.
I also feel slight murmurs of missing upon acceleration from a dead stop, but she runs well enough on the freeway/highway although, she is not as spunky as she can be and has been in the past.
I of course researched and found it could be the camshaft position sensor or damaged reluctor ring...
I've had this 2003 Expy for a few years and until today, never knew the the previous owner had scabbed in a wire that at some point went to something.
Well... When I went to start my truck up to go home after work she didn't crank. Just... Nothing. Then I noticed the PRNDL error on the dash so I...
From research, identification sites, etc. I'm pre sure that Bonnie has the 9.75" rear end and not the 8.8
Could y'all qualify/disqualify that I'm correct?
Thank you
So far, I've run Cooper STT PROs and currently, Mastercraft Courser MXTs, both in a LT285/70R17 run between 55-75lbs psi.
I'm noticing less millage from the Mastercrafts as well as less crisp handling. I also don't feel as confident in the rain with the Mastercraft's like I did the STT PROs...
Is the way she chews up the front upper control arms.
This is why I need to fabricate my own for all four corners using uniballs and some heim for the steering.
Gentlemen,
I've decided to fabricate major accessories for the Expedition. HD bumpers and side guards (To replace the running boards. And to make my Mega Rear Guard available soon. I'm ordering material on Monday.
The ultimate goal is to provide a real suspension lift for the Expedition.
I'm wanting to replace Bonnie's front UCA's with something beefier and hopefully with a uniball. Does anyone know an F-Series truck upper that would fit and if so, what year model?l
Bonnie threw a P1450 code and I'm wanting to figure it out. I did look around under the truck while she was on a lift getting an alignment and found a disconnected hose that is in the picture.
Does anyone know what it's supposed to connect to? I didn't find anywhere it could connect to so if...
Okay...
Yesterday afternoon I went to leave work and found myself in the good cranking but no start scenario. I immediately started processing the possible causes and it came down to ignition or fuel delivery.
I went back up to my office and began researching and found several forum threads...
To further warn those behind me to pay attention so they won't impale themselves on my massive rear-guard. I swapped the incandescent bulbs for LEDs and added a flasher unit to it.
Hopefully, this will get their attention.
I picked up a 2L2H-19E616-AA from Walmart for $24.99 with free Ship to Store which is WAY better than the $50 the local auto parts stores wanted.
The part number I listed is the one that is appropriate for MY Expo. There are TWO possibles. Cross or D drive.
Verify which one you have before...
That's my girl ;)
I CAN'T WAIT 'til the front bumper I'm fabbing is done. The main span is solid-core steel stock and on the parts where I'm using tubing... She's getting 5/8 wall tubing.
:secret: "It's got a cop motor, a three hundred and thirty cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made without any catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say?"
I just did an oil change on my Expo this past week and realized that when I had it changed last (I was out of town) the oil change place used a WAY SMALLER filter on my truck than OEM.
Does anyone know if this can have any negative effect and if so, what they are?
