The Ford documents do clearly state weight distribution hitches are "required" to exceed 6k towing, reaching the 9,200 lb capacity.

parts.ford.com shows two radiators for the Expedition: RAD130 for standard duty radiator and RAD152 for the heavy duty radiator. If I search my VIN, only the RAD152 (heavy duty) is available.

Thanks, I am betting the parts guy was just looking at my vin and therefore only saw one option. Thanks for clarifying.

Upgrading the rear brakes used to be part of the HD Tow. I don't see that in the HD options.

It's been said that Ford massively underrates towing capacity, probably for upselling options and superduties

There's hotshot trucker guys running around towing 25 - 30k lbs commercial freight all day every day with dually pickups... apparently it's even 100% legal, fully insured and aboveboard. yeah they're SOMEWHAT better equipped for towing, but hardly 5X better

they aren’t running IRS’s though...

I don't know about the '19, but I have a '17 Limited with tow package, 3.73 and the works. One "Upgrade" on mine are the Load Leveling shocks. Avoid them if at all possible. I have problems with the back end sagging as the shocks fail to level with a 6K lb trailer/approx. 600lbs tongue weight. Towing power with the Eco boost is great but I am having trouble finding an available option for the shocks and Ford will not acknowledge the issue. Aftermarket has not caught up to these yet.

Well, Ford does no longer offer any sort of load leveling device (shocks, airbags, etc) on the 4th Gen Expeditions...

Thank you everyone! I doubt I would ever tow close to 9200, but I figured if i'm $50k+ into the deal, why not get what I need.

It sounds like don't have the heavy duty radiator which would affect towing conditions slightly, but at least I would have the better gear ratio.

It sounds like you're thinking about getting the FX4 without the towing package. That DOES get you the HD radiator.
