Same here in NC. I randomly check cars.com and get prepared to drive 200-300 miles to find what I want. But when I put in my zip code and select new, I get 3 maxes and 10 2021 maxes.
I've been doing that too with a couple hundred miles. I need a 4x4, a bench seat, and HD Tow, so it's a little tedious to go into each one and pull up the window sticker. I've found a few that would work, but then they have been sold by the time I call. With the price increases though, I'm probably better waiting until my order actually comes in. I'm still hoping it gets off chip hold. Today marks 6 weeks since it's been on hold.

Ordered my Limited MAX Platinum Feb 9th and have yet to receive scheduling notice. Although, in Canada, it seems we don't have the same verbosity as you folks in the USA. We don't see a status at all. I have to keep bugging my dealership.

I think we are probably better off waiting price wise. I’m not getting anything special…4x4, captains seats, HD tow, 302A, big screen, and what I suspect might be the kiss of death…infinite blue and sandstone interior. I ordered in October and just went into production last week. Guessing I’ll end up in the lot with you waiting for a chip or wiper motor or whatever else is running short

I question how much the other manufacturer's are in the same boat. I am the furthest thing from a Ford loyalist (this is actually my first one lol) but I don't see much inventory on Toyota or GM lots either. I talked to 2 GM dealers and they wouldn't even take an order for me, they just wanted me to wait till I get something close to what I want.

Jeep/Ram seems to have a TON of inventory near me.... I wonder what their secret is. There isn't a chance in hell I'd buy a Wagoneer but I've been looking at the Rams a lot.
I talked to a GMC salesman today. On a Denali that isn't in stock as yet with a MSRP of $81K they added over $5K to it. I laughed and asked him if he was serious, yup he says. I then asked given the mindset the dealer was demonstrating, blatantly screwing a potential customer what did he think the chances were that I'd buy anything from them when things went back to normal in 6 or so months? He was standing there with his mouth open as I walked away.
There are no new Dodges, or GMC's or Fords to be had in the Daytona area that I could find.

Can someone help me figure out where my expedition may be as far production goes? Got my first window sticker last Thursday and got my second one today (a week apart). Some of the dates and numbers are different and I’m not sure what I’m looking at, so any help would be greatly appreciated! The old one has 4/21 at the bottom and the new one has 4/28 at the bottom.

Has anybody gotten a representative to talk to the plant to find out about chip holds? I’ve seen some people say they were going to get to them by Saturday, and others had marketing tell them they were going to be done after all the scheduled for production vehicles are done. My dealer has an ETA of 5/13 for mine, but that means nothing. The tracker has shown in production since 3/19. I ordered a limited 4x4 with tow package. I’ve seen the same car except in a max at a dealer that was started on 4/4. Max won’t fit in my garage though.

Weird, the ram/dodge/jeep dealer by me has 3 Wagoneers and 2 Grand Wagoneers and then about 15 Rams (non of the rams are fully loaded).

I had a similar experience with a Ram dealer in Ohio, they had 2 laramie night editions I was talking to them about that were $5k more than MSRP so I called and asked what that was about, she told me it was dealer markup for a vehicle in high demand... I said oh okay I'll take my business elsewhere if that's the case..... this woman however decided to reply to me with "Okay I'm not worried about it, someone else will buy these trucks"!

There is a good chance I am going to order a 2023 expedition stealth..... no matter how bad I want to walk away from this vehicle with how my issues have been handle, I simply can't go back to a lame ass V8. I would be all over the Ram Laramie/Limited if they offered the new I6 twin turbo that will be in the GW for 2023.

From Blue Oval Forums. Not sure exactly what "Cleanup Scheduling" means, other than redoing all the existing scheduling done weeks ago

I'm hoping it means squeezing in some of us unscheduled folks. I suck at waiting for things.

One thing my dad taught me about life, there's a sucker in every situation. They'll find someone in a bind or who doesn't know any better that will pay the markup.

@xraymd AWESOME! What are you going to do with all the time you have now that its on the way??!!! No more REFRESH, REFRESH!

Now it might be worse. I‘m going to start driving by the lot each day to see if it’s arrived. Easier to click “refresh”. :rotflmao:

Out of curiosity, has anyone that knows they were on chip hold received their ride? Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

Hows your relationship with your dealer? If it's good they should be able to provide you with the rail car number, if being shipped by rail, and you can track it's trek to your nearest rail yard. Have to call the CSX tracking number. Don't talk to a representative, the voice recognition sucks and the train will spend a lot of the stopped in the middle of no where but it's nice to see it making progress.

I’m going to try it out. I’ve read about rail tracking. My dealer is really nice but all this tracking stuff seems new to him.

Yeah one thing I learned last year after my superduty fiasco was that retail knows more about getting info about their order than dealers do. Probably because it's more important to them than it is the dealer.
