What is now, if it ever gets delivered, is a ten month odyssey I am thinking that it is time to move away from Ford. I don’t know how we can reward an organization that has treated us so badly. I know people will say that it is commodity restraints but that is no excuse for a lack of communication with customers. They have been dragging this process out and not communicating so that people don’t cancel their orders. In the meantime, interest rates are increasing, trade in values are depreciating, Ford has raised the price of the truck while removing options and offering minimal accommodations. Ford has turned a blind eye to price gouging and through their production process and lack of dealership intervention have supported it. The people of authority at Ford are impossible to reach. I got a call back from a supervisor two months ago and apparently you are only aloud one call from a supervisor. It is hard to defend Ford’s lack of transparency and the financial harm they are causing.

Me being overseas, I wasn't able to order the truck when order banks opened. Honestly, I'm glad I wasn't able to. Reading all of your horror stories, I'm so sorry for everyone here who put their trust in ford, with them knowing the circumstances and challenges their competitors jumped through, only to allow the same thing to happen to their product after having 6 months lead time. My dad orderd an escalade, and got it delievered in 4 months. I would be going crazy if i was yall, hell, me waiting 2 extra mnths after my promised del date for my 18 was maddening back then. Not only that, they have the gall to increase the price of a "refreshed" product after already raising the price, then continue to do harm by taking away the most desirable features that actually sets it apart from its competitors. Then, after all that, park your built products in a parking lot for months with no communication but excuses to you all. I'm coming back to the states in a few months, and the plan was to get an early 23my truck, but that's changed. I will wait until the next remodel, and ford/dealers don't have the leverage to strong arm us faithful. It's ok, I can wait. Until then, I will be getting my wife's dream car when I get back to the states.

I ordered back in March, however found a comparable one in late April at a dealer near my house and picked it up. I've called the dealer to cancel multiple times and left the Sales manager voice messages, but never got a call to confirm it's cancelled. Have also stopped by the dealer a few times and the guy is never available, leaving a note for him each time. Now I get my email from Ford noting a July 25 build schedule. I put no money down and signed nothing, so guessing they will just sell it when it eventually gets there, but it amazes me that the dealer, who I've bought multiple cars from over the years has just ignored me.

The dealer doesn’t want to cancel the order bc they are all desperate for dealer stock units. If you didn’t put money down and didn’t sign anything your order wasn’t officially a retail customer order, it was a dealer stock unit anyway.

For those complaining on the wait time, it really all depends on what you order, and the options package you order. Commodity issues are across the automotive manufacturer spectrum. Heck, all across all spectrums right now, just pick up a newspaper.

As for my XLT, 4x4, Special Edition package, 2nd row bench seat, HD towing package order (see other thread), it has gone so far as follows:
Ordered 1/24/2022
Email received today, truck has been built.
No commodity holds associated with the VIN/build as far as I can see
Being shipped by rail
Estimated delivery to dealer 6/20/2022

May be true, but BMW dropped wireless charging, took away the touch screen, no backing assist, and the last I checked the upgraded HK sound system was unavailable.

Supposedly the only app that you could follow the tracking progress of you vehicle by convoy, was Palsapp but they’ve since locked the site down so us customers can’t use it to track our orders. If you’re wanting to track the shipment progress on your order if it was shipped by rail, you’ll first need to get ahold of the rail car number that your car is being carried on. With that, you can call CSX and go through the prompts to get to the rail car info section. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t

Those of you who got scheduling emails today what part of the country are you in? My dealer told me it is hard to go by what we hear in the forums because it depends on what region you are in for when things are scheduled. Someone posted a while back a document that showed expeditions would be scheduled that week. He checked and sent me a document showing different models were being scheduled and no Expeditions that week.
I am in Georgia.

I originally placed my order for a ‘21 on 8/27/21. Knowing more about the process now, I’m guessing the ‘21 order book was already closed? Anyway they rolled my order to a ‘22 which was placed on 10/27. Chip hold since 3/17. Just called marketing again and new ETA is 7/28. This is a miserable process.

agreed on the miserable process.
Ordered 11/1. Been sitting on “chip hold” since 3/17.
I get the commodity hold, I’m well informed on what’s going on, but ford **** the bed with this one.
They have tens of thousands of vehicles built and waiting. This kind of aging inventory is not good. I get a delay and not stopping the main line, but building up this much stock is not helping them.
Also, after 3-4 months, they should have a better triage system of relaying information to consumers. Even if that information is “we are waiting on these parts for this vehicle, there is no eta”. That info is all available, just making it accessible and transparent to dealers and consumers.
I’m still waiting on mine. But told my wife already, we might just flip it for a profit. In my area every dealer is tacking on 5-10k on top of new MSRP, even if I flip it for 10k more than I negotiated it would be a savings for the buyer compared to buying new from dealer.

Interesting... So even though I have paperwork with my name and order number on it, and have received emails from Ford for order confirmation and scheduling, it's a dealer stock order? Wow, amazing what these guys will do these days.

Can you make a profit due to the fact your paid Sales Tax? I thought the same but Sales Tax in AZ is almost 10%.

All in with sales tax, I would make about 3-5k profit. Not bad for little effort.
Not sure if I’m going that route only bc there is still the issue of placing another order for a 2023. No guarantee they will be here even within 2023, and price increases basically negate my profits.

What’s the chance the new ETA of August for many of us is completely a bogus guess? I feel like they have no clue when these 99% finished units will be ready to ship.

Does anyone have knowledge of the chip or wiper motor situation?

Black

-2/28/22 Ordered
-3/25/22 Scheduled for Production week 5/16/22
-4/7/22 Production date changed to week 6/6/22
-4/14/22 Production changed back to week 5/16/22
-4/22/22 Production changed to week 5/23/22
-4/25/22 Production changed to week 6/27/22
Update:
5/20/22 Production changed to week 7/18/22

Now I’m getting upset like everyone else. Very tempted to pony up an extra $6k and get a green one with 2nd row Captains that’s on its way to another dealer nearby. If I knew it wouldn’t get pushed back again, I’d stick with my order, but who knows how many more times it’ll be delayed?
This sucks!

Well, the original delivery date of 5/17-5/20 has passed and my car is still sitting at the rail yard in Mesquite, TX, just a few hours away. As of right now, the dealer told me that their Ford rep isn’t letting them go pick up the cars from the rail yard, but at the sister GM dealer next door, their rep is letting the GM dealer go pick cars up from the same rail yard. I don’t understand why Ford won’t let the dealer go pick them up from the rail yard?!

Seems odd. Usually that would be up to the dealer.
