Has anyone confirmed if the 2025 chassis upgrades yielded more protection for the small overlap crash tests? Hoping there are better IIHS results this time around…

So i was looking into ordering a 2024 and now im not sure.. The 2025 apparently is supposed to have better towing capacities, i wonder how it does on payload. I seen some 2024 that hit upper 1800s on payloads.

Build your own doesnt appear to have any sort of max tow package available. Wonder if its just included in all of them now by default? It was hard to find 2024 that didnt have that out by me, they all had sun roofs though which i didnt want...

Now I have quite the dilemma.. I dont like to order first year cars or first year after re-vamps.. Do I just hold out for 2026 now or jump on a 24 before its too late...

EDIT: Maybe im blind. It looks liek the Heavy Duty trailer package is there and its inlcuded by default :)

I was pleasantly surprised that a new '25 Stealth package was not priced to bad over the '24.

tbh I am even more torn between these and the GMs - it seems like these offer a slightly better experience if considering blue cruise, but less compelling amenities and features when considering packages without SC/BC. An equiv Suburban LT w/ Comfort package is prices $2.5k less than the equivalent Active Max, with better speakers.

I don't like the black rear hatch. Argh.

I'm surprised the base Platinum costs less than the tremor and king ranch.

The king ranch has more standard features than the base platinum.

Since Kentucky Truck Plant won't start building 2025 Expeditions until January (?), I doubt that IIHS would have any of the new ones to test. Ford may have sent some pre-production samples for testing, but I hope that IIHS doesn't post safety ratings on new vehicles until they test production models.

Heck, based on what I'm seeing at local dealers, KTP is still cranking out 2024 models.

Definitely like the rear gate update. Thats the big thing I miss from my Landcruiser. Your crap doesn’t fall out when you open the hatch, you have a place to sit or work when the back is full of gear.
Also!! A big reason to do this is adding rigidity to the large opening in the back of the body. The tailgate is a structural component. Vs the rear hatch is just a floating cap over the back of the body.

Updates to the rear suspension to improve load control is definitely a big deal. I love my 2019 and its been a great tow rig. But if the 25 addresses cooling capacity with the transmission and adds body rigidity via tailgate and updated improved rear suspension for better load capacity then its a win.

The tailgate is definitely a part of improving body strength. The rear suspension changes don’t bump towing capacity much 100-200 lbs but it should help with better sprung weight control ie more confident handling with trailer in tow. Current setup has a well known rear wag and wobbly feel when your trailer is shoving you around which is pretty typical of non solid rear axle suspension

Load E tires and higher pressure made the rear much more stable for me.

Anyone have detail on the 2025 SPP Package, comparing it to the Stealth Appearance package, looks like for $3k you get:
-Drivers Pkg ($2,810 option package)
-Red calipers
-Sound enhancer with automatic noise cancelling (ANC)
-High Performance Engine
-High Flow Exhaust

Anyone know what the "High Performance Engine" and "High Flow Exhaust" is in detail. I thought the platinum already has the HO 440HP engine or is the base engine 400HP and only way to get 440HP is SPP or Ultimate?

I was looking at 2024 SPP package and required CDD, ELSD and HD Tow, looks like HD tow and ELSD is std on platinum now and if the 440HP engine is the same rationale to getting SPP is really cosmetics. CDD can be added via the Drivers Pkg.

my25 has 2 engine output instead of 3 from my24. The base engine is the 400hp tune, which was my24 platinum output. The ho eco is the optional engine that is available on tremor, plat w/ spp, or plat w/ ultimate.

The 2 pkgs essentially equips them the same as how the pkgs did for limited the prior years. SAP is only a visual pkg. It adds black 22in wheels and design elements, but not much else. The SPP, however gives you gray 22in wheels, interior and exterior design elements, 22 speaker system, the ho eco and ccd included, not available on SAP. The muffler seems like an add on to help with the enhanced sound.

I was looking at SPP, but I like the SAP wheels more and don't really need the ho eco, so I'd save a cpl grand by going the driver pkg route. I can still get the ccd and upgraded soynd system and it's less than the SAP which can't get those options and the wheels are the same. I'm mad you can't get the massage seats without going ultimate which i dnt want as I dnt want the 24s. Also, at the ultimate price, a nav is only 5k off, which would be a much better deal and what i really want.

I don’t think base platinum has the 440hp….only the SPP and Tremor. I could be wrong.

That Platinum Ultimate pricing is rough. But that’s what I’ll likely end up with. But I’m still 2-3 years out. My ‘18 platinum max is still great!

Meanwhile, I just reserved a Scout Traveler. Haha

Anyone know if the digital device holder will be provided to buyers who purchase prior to "Summer 2025" when they become available? Will they swap out the headrest?

Also, I can't find anywhere where it details what is included in the Platinum Ultimate Interior Package (any pics of the difference between a platinum ultimate interior vs. platinum)?

I am thinking I just go with the SPP package @ $6,500 as I don't see what the value is in the Ultimate for $13,500 (other than my wife would probably prefer the lighter colored interior...don't love that SPP again requires black interior).

The SPP is actually less MSRP than the 2024 it seem (most 2024 SPPs I see are optioned out at $92K, vs 2025 build is $87) of course the $10,500 they wanted for the 304a package in 2024 is a bit crazy.
