Just curious who here has a tune while under Ford's warranty? What is your plan if the worst should happen?

I am really itching to get it done but don't want the risk. And I don't want that piggy back stuff.

I have on my 2018 raptor & will prob tune the expedition i just purchased for wife. you can find dealers that are "tuner friendly" and also they can be returned to stock prior to warranty work if needed - although if ford wanted to they could tell it has been flashed. Ultimately it depends on how comfortable you are w/ your dealer....

FWIW, I have two friends in my local Ford's service department. One is a tech who oversees all of the electronic problems and the other is the Service Manager. Both have 5 Star tunes on their vehicles and both say it will not void the warranty. They said just put it back to normal/stock before bringing it in for any service appointments. The tech told me it will put more stress on the engine and might make things break sooner but that he's never had any issues with his tuned F-150 to date. I'm itching as well!

I've been curious about the same thing. I'd have to believe that you could tune it at least to the 400HP level that is factory with a Platinum with no issues. Plus, the dealer would have to prove that the tune is what caused the failure, which is highly unlikely unless your one of those guys who just beats on his stuff and runs it to redline at every red-light-turned-green.

Does anyone have experience with what tuners to use?

Anybody know "friendly" dealer in the DFW area?

Bought mine at Grapevine Ford and when I took it for my complementary oil change I was talking with the service manager and he was not receptive to helping me out if I got a tune.

I have a 5 star tune, I never under any circumstances take my car to a dealer for maintenance.
If I had a warranty issue I'd return the tune to the stock settings a few days before.

I would suggest not bringing the tune up and putting it all back to stock before you take it in and they will probably never look for it....

I have the 5 star tune on mine and zero issues. If I am ever asked why my computer has been re-flashed I will tell them that I run 37" off road tires and the tuner corrects the speedometer. :)

That’s not 400 to the rear wheels though more like 360. But you can get 464 and 551 with just a performance tune only. This is graph for 93. Even higher with e50

Are there any tuner/programmers that include a vacuum gauge and ammeter in their gauge displays?

Anyone using the 87 street tow tune? If so, is it worth it, can you tell the difference? Mpg?
