We bought a used expedition max and got the extended warranty called portfolio through the dealership.
Our car is in the shop for almost 3 weeks cause the warranty company has to come out to inspect it before work is done. Ford dealership stated the warranty company was supposed to come in but never did. We called and did some research on the company. Turns out thjs warranty does none of the i spections themselves but is outsourced to a 3rd party company which they would not give us information on. We noticed hundreds of complaints for this company. We are thinking about getting a class action lawsuit.
Has anyone else had problems with this company?

Yeah, that's tough when dealing with a 3rd-party warranty service.

Turn in the warranty, get a refund, then go to another Ford dealer and buy a Ford warranty.

This scam was around about 6 years ago.

I was surpised at the absence of pressure put on us late December 2024 when we bought ours. No followup pestering either except for Sirius XM. It says "Zurich" and not "Ford" for the expensive plan:

If I were here, you would know it !
We have an extended warranty (5yr/120k) for my wife's '017 Acadia thru Zurich, and they've covered everything that went wrong since we bought it in 2022...Note: ALL work was done at our local GMC Dealership, all we had to pay was the $200 deductible per incident...

1) Replaced the Touchscreen/Audio/Settings control system: $3750
2) Replaced the "Push to park" sensor, wiring harness & TCM: $4600
3) Replaced the heater core, blend door actuators, TPMS interlink + 2 sensors: $2200

Not to shabby for a warranty that cost us $2.5k, yes ?

Holy crap! Do I need to call them and buy a plan....?

The only times I have ever bought "extended warranties" on ANYTHING I have NEVER had occasion to use them. We joke sometimes "let's buy that plan so we never have a problem."

Congrats on getting value from Zurich.

Now that the owners manual is over 600 pages and you need a degree to figure out wth is going I've become a true believer in them. Sorta like any insurance, you hope you never have to use it, but are damn glad you have it when something goes south.

Are you trying to have the warranty work performed at the dealership that you purchased the Portfolio plan from?

When I purchased my Expy I purchased their plan. A few months later I checked on what a Ford ESP would cost and and it was about $1K more. I asked the dealership to cancel the plan and refund me. They could only apply the funds towards the loan amount but that was fine with me. I proceeded to purchase the Ford ESP.

This is soooo true, as we found out in Nov '21, when a massive hail storm severely damaged both my wife's '011 Acadia & my '12 Caddy CTS....

Because we had full coverage & it would have cost more to repair than replace them, the insurance totaled them both out, and paid us almost as much we had paid for them a few years earlier....which of course we used as down payments on their replacements :)

Note that they also offered us a salvage settlement, but that would have resulted in getting Salvage titles, and here in PA, salvage vehicles are not eligible for full coverage insurance, so we said no & took the totaled-out checks instead...

Since the dealer sold it to you I would go after that dealer too.
