Sorry I don't have any templates. Was first done in cardboard then cutout and shaped further by hand and put together. All one of a kind.

Also the only difference in the rear walls is the front facing panels. Everything else is mirror image.

Still some shaving down to do and sanding but essentially ready to go. Now on to the door pods.

shaved down to fit back into the locations, they look pretty shallow but they are pretty long. I am hoping it will be a good volume for the drivers. Now onto bondo to fill the gaps.
and yes I know they are 2 different colours. was working with leftovers I had from previous builds. Same fabric 2 different colours.

Scuff sanded the pods today and started the bondo process, Going to take some finessing for this part.

Also I cut the plates/adapters/spacers for the door speakers for the stock location.

More to come soon, with pics of course.

Well everything is in and playing now and sounds great. Going to take some seat time to get this turned even more and I think I am going to need a processor of some kind (maybe a PS8) but over all I am super happy with it.

I am STILL waiting on the vinyl so more pics to come.

Finally got some time to finish the back of the truck. Stretched the fabric on the 3 other panels. Now I just need to dye them black to match.

Hi all, thought I would give an update here to anyone who hasnt seen my thread on f150online.
System list ( dont like to give model numbers)
Double Din Nav headunit with backup camera and 2-zone
6.75" components upfront
5.25 components in rear
4-10" 500W Rms subs in custom side panel enclosures with integrated amp racks
1-1500W mono amp
1-850W 4ch amp
2F cap
3 kinetik batteries
Fully sheilded RCA's
4 runs of 0g power wire (2 power, 2 ground)
200 sq/f sound deadening
2-7" Headrest monitors

So as of right now the headunit, backup camera, sound deadening in the doors and tailgate all have 3 layers, front and rear speakers are in and power wire and RCAs have been run. I have begun the build on the enclosure/amp rack and am at the stage now where I need to carpet them hppefully tomorrow.

Oh and there will be a 3" port directly above the subs, and if anyones wondering the enclosures are just a hair shy of 1.5cb/f each I could have gotten more but didnt need it for the subs I chose.

Either way heres a few pics.

Dam this looks great...you should sell a pattern for this rear cargo area...I thought about having the rear side glass removed and steel panels put over the glass area and all welded and filled in to match the truck....kinda like a panel Expy....it would make it one of one.....

Yeah I thought about that too, both the templates and selling the 3rd panels. maybe sometime down the road.....

Well this setup might be for sale next year. I have had alot of interest in the truck since I started this setup and looks like I may need to do a "cleaner" setup. What it may turn into is a more factory style panels that are leather/vinyl wrapped. So keep your eye out this may be for sale. Cool thing is the enclosure part of it can be swapped out to another on for different subs pretty easily.

I just bit the bullet and ordered the minimum 5 yards of 4 way stretch vinyl that's colour matched. I have a few other places I can use it. Also I am trying to find some time to install the 6to8 and all the extra wiring that goes along with it.

Little update, vinyl came in. It was terrible and I sent it back. Really thin, inconsistent colour and weird grain. So waiting on new stuff, again.....

Update
New vinyl is in and its perfect. Just need a few hours to do it. Oh and maybe some warmer weather.

But now I need to do a bunch of work to the truck. Replacement headers I got do not fit worth a damn so I just got stock replacements and am powder coating them tomorrow. Along with that I am replacing nearly the whole EGR system as well as spark plugs, injectors, fuel filter and thermostat. Gotta love check engine lights.

Oh and the 2 piece pods are a no go. Mocked them up and they dont work. so sticking with the originals.

So I am toying with the idea of a new build for the back of the truck. Any one interested in the current enclosures/walls? (no electronics)

Nice work, I assume you unloaded the enclosures?? Man, this site is going to be the death of me (or just my marriage.. lol). I thought I might be done with custom installs when I traded my Accord in for my 06 Expedition.. but I can't just stay stock - it's just not in my nature ;)

Yeah I have never been able to leave my vehicles alone. Even the odd winter beater I had got mods done. Mine took so long to do as I did it in spare time, 30minutes here. 20 there an hour here. if you look at the last full pic of the rear you can see the baby monitor, working during naps lol

As for the setup, its still in the truck and I am enjoying it. I am working now to get everything together for the next build as I want to just be able to go and not worry about anything else as this one should be quite significant.

I got to reading through this thread and enjoying the pictures of the sound system install when I ran across this quote. I've been thinking about the same steel panel mod for the back of my Expy and am glad to know I'm not the only one. Have you done any research into having this done?
