The addition of the parts did slightly reduce some airflow but did not reduce overall performance.

Curious what you mean by no loss of performance? So you didn't see a change in IATs when beating on it? Obviously day to day usage staying out of boost will not be effected. That is great news if there is indeed that much headroom with the factory IC. I'm coming from a platform that can't do more than a single dyno pull with the factory tune, on a cool day before the factory IC is totally overwhelmed.

Does that upper opening also feed the IC?

No loss of performance was found during all the numerous scenarios we put the vehicles through. The upper opening does feed the intercooler as well.
