newbie cruise control question

Hi all
My GF has a '99 Expy with OE cruise control
does anyone know if it's supposed to have a dash light to indicate if it's engaged
I can tell it's working but can't believe this fully loaded Ford wouldn't have installed a "cruise" light somewhere, if only for safety

My 03 does have one. It says Cruise when engaged.

My 97 doesn't have one.
It irritates me.

My 99 doesnt have one either and i hate that.

My 98 XLT does not have a Cruise light either...but hey, the buttons light up on the steering wheel - which looks cool.
