Woohoo! You got a video! You need to head to the Pacific Northwest and see if you can get one of Sasquatch now...or buy a lottery ticket.

So we can all claim this video as our own for use at the dealership next time, right?

(I never thought about switching to my other key.)

Absolutely! I'm hoping the dealer will take this as evidence that there is an issue. Interesting that it seems to be affecting the same mirror for everyone which makes me wonder if it's a module or something with the actual hardware.

I’m trying to figure out if you’re being an a$$ or just trying to be funny? Getting a video of the condition is about the only way you are going to show what’s happening to the service rep. It is random and cannot be duplicated on demand. Every time it happens I try to Record it with date and time stamp so I can work with the service writer for a solution.

Haha, sorry for the confusion...I was totally going for humor. When this happens to me I just hit the preset button to correct the issue without remembering to take a video or don't have my phone available. I have been trying to get a video since it first happened as it's a condition that's impossible to replicate on command and my dealer just keeps telling me to bring them something showing the problem.

So truly I was going for humor and my apologies if it didn't come off that way. I really appreciate the video as I can now take it up with my dealer and try to get it addressed.

I am having the same problem and now my radio is moving so slow that it is almost worthless. It also drops the Bluetooth connection and reconnects randomly. I took it to the dealer yesterday (2nd time for mirror issue 1st time for slowness of radio) They said the sync modul has a short in it and that was preventing everything from working properly. So they have ordered it and should put it in next week. From search around I think the “sync module” is also called the APIM module. Maybe it is worth mentioning and keeping an eye out for other things as we deal with the mirror issue.

I've experienced this a few times too. Always with my key (#2) and always the passenger side. I can stop the issue by clicking my memory button.
I got one too...Ford didn't care. They said "You have plenty of warranty...if it stops working all together we can work with you on fixing it." SOOOO COMFORTING to hear this when you paid 70,000+ for a vehicle...
I also find it fairly embarrassing that it does it when I am taking clients around in it.

A quick way to make it stop is to push the button that folds the mirrors in, it’s right next to where you adjust the mirrors. It takes all of half a second: if the mirror begins to pop push that button and then push it again as soon as the mirror starts to fold in. It’s stopped it every time for me. Of course the car knows when you have clients to embarrass you in front of just as it knows when you take it to the mechanic it begins to quit making that funny sound or whatever you’re taking it in for.

Well the replaced that module FINALLY on Friday and tonight the mirrors went nuts again! But my Bluetooth issues seem fix and sterao screen seems fixed. Now my rear lift gate opens at random on its own. I am sick of this vehicle.

it's happening on my Expy quite frequently as well.. usual fix is to fold/unfold mirrors quickly.. but i've even had it re-occur a couple times on the fold out.
easy entry also exacerbates the situation, as it adjusts the mirrors it seems every time i get in and out of the vehicle..
Just waiting for a Service Bulletin to be issues before i bring it up at the dealer.. I just know what that response will be like..

Mine is dramatically getting worse! Ford says "unable to duplicate still". It did it twice while I was driving the other day which leads me to believe it could be a nasty little safety issue. And still having issue with the SecuriCode acting up and the back lift gate not unlocking properly... LVMCPA...I'm getting sick of it too! And Ford service for that matter!

The last 3 threads I’ve seen have you as the most recent comment with a complaint, man I feel bad for you. You may have a potential lemon. So far I’ve seen a transmission shift issue, mirror freakout, seat Lester issue... totally sucks! Your dealership service department sounds awful.

I've been thinking it...but now you've made me really worry that is the case! And yes...they suck! I absolutely loved this vehicle for a few days then realized all the issues and immediately started trying to tackle them to no avail. Gave up a perfectly good 2000 Ford Explorer that was still running fine save a few paint scratches...for this....

Hopefully it gets fixed this next time! Here's to hoping! Apparently 75,000 bucks doesn't get you much reliability these days!

I feel you, i try to put up with all the glitches cuz its new but its fustrating when you pay so much for a vehicle and service, no matter how much they think theyre helping, just cant get right. Great car, but hard to keep the love. I have noticed that navs have significantly less issues except the popping outside mirrors. As much as i wanna get another when my lease is up, ive been lookin at all new like vehicles being released. Aviator is a beauty but eaitin on the gm twins, x7 and the new gls.

It’s hard to say if the Navigator has less issues or if there are just so many more Expys on the road compared to the Navigator. That being said the service with Lincoln is, in my experience, worlds better than I’ve seen reported here. I’ve had the mirror pop some and the heat shield by the spare tire rattles if I slam the right rear door or drop heave stuff in the back... I consider neither a big deal.

Can you have your Ford Expedition serviced at a Lincoln Dealership?

I had my Navigator (2007) serviced at my local Ford Dealership because it was much closer than the Lincoln Dealership.

I’m sure they can work on the Ford but seeing as it’s a step up in service that wasn’t paid for in the cost of the car versus a Lincoln stepping down in service going to Ford I’m go out on a limb say no.
