Idk whether you are going for a "street" look or a rugged "off road" look, or no look at all. But I love my BFG A/T's. They are great tires that handle well on all terrains that I've brought them on. (pavement, grass, mud, gravel, snow, rain)

Running michelin ltx ms/2 on mine. I believe 265x70x18. Good, well-rounded tire with 70k warranty. Mine is predominantly street driven though.

STREET: Michelin LTX MS2:drool2: (best tires ever!, if my truck didnt go offroad i would run these everyday of the week and never look back... 100K+ on a set on pops 2003, and probably about that on my 1997)
STREET/Off Road: BFG AT & Michelin LTX AT2s arent bad but I would buy MS2s b4 i got the AT2s
OFF ROAD: BFG mud-terrains OR Toyo Open Country MT

Thats it, there are no other tires I would recommend for an expedition, continental suck:badidea:, BFG Long Trail suck, Nitto Terra Grapplers are OK but dont come near BFG ATs, I could go on...

go to http://offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT-Tires/index.html if your truck is ever going to see dirt, mud, sand, etc.
Great reviews for TONS of tires. also Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct will have LOTS of reviews there.
If you look up any of the 5 tires I said you'll know I'm not BS'ing you

You just recommended BFG all terrains and then said not to come near them?

choices are endless...persona preference really...ask yourself what do you do/plan to do with your truck...then search for tires that meat that criteria...THEN study up for ratings on them...

Kelly Safari

When I got my truck from the PD...they had the same size but two different tread patterns...So, I just decided to replace them all...they were black walls and I didn't get a spare with it...So I looked at tirerack.com and many other wholesale sites...I found these Kelly Safari 265/70R17 raised white letters with a good wet rating and a somewhat aggressive tread pattern, but didn't want it to be noisy. I got all 4 tires mounted and balance for $580.00 it is a 60k mile tire, have had them on wet pavement and purposely hit free standing water on the freeway and the way the tread patter is designed to channel the water out...these are great on my AWD Expo. My 2 cents

Kelly Stats:
Features

Elongated rib and multi-pitch tread design
Unique tread pattern and element geometry
Below-surface geometry
Enhanced cavity shape
Advanced bead area design
Benefits

Noise reduction for a quiet ride
Enhanced traction in deep snow and mud without causing additional noise
Helps prevent stones from becoming lodged in the tread grooves
Helps maintain rectangular footprint shape for even treadwear and long tread life
Enhanced tire-to-rim fit for a smooth ride

I love my Terra Grapplers. Great in the snow. Quiet on the streets. And the price point is the greatest part.

Bleh, got some General Tire tires from discount tire. They've held up pretty well so far. I forget what company makes them as their budget tire.

So far, they've done pretty decently in wet roads. Not as awesome as the Firestone Destinations (which wore down way too quickly), but I'm not going to hydroplane any time soon.

I like my BFG's. If you get some, make sure you get the TA KO's, not the regular all terrains. I have a little over 70,000 miles on my current set and they look like they will probably last another 10,000. I drive slow though, so that's probably why I get so many miles out of my tires. I keep them inflated to 44 psi because the edges seem to wear the most.

I like these tires because you can go rock crawling and tear chunks out of the sidewalls and they won't pop, which means you aren't going to pop a tire from pinching it on a curb while parking (I've seen a few people do this).

I bumped a curb once at 30 mph when I was pulling over to turn and it didn't pop a tire. Try that on a cheap tire.
