I had one of my friends *** over an we replaced the tranny line the was rusted an leaking on The driveway and we also replaced the fuel filter which seemed to be on the graveyard side. Now its running a lot better but tomorrow will tell cause I have to put tranny fluid in it so hopefully everything goes well. I will keep everyone informed. :893karatesmiley-thu

Ok I went to bozozone and the first told me they didn't have any code readers. I came back five minuets later they had one. The codes that came up were p0141, p1131, and p1151 from my research it has to do wit the o2 censors. But I didn't know they would cause my expo to break up an sputter.

Hahahaha . First thing I saw too. Friends don't let friends "***' over anything . Especially tranny's. Yikes. So many problems with that..... But seriously....

O2 sensors can cause many problems...studies show that it is a maintenance part and should be replaced every 50, 000 miles...can be expensive when you have 4 of them....I would replace the two upstream ones closest to the engine...one on each side....how did those mirrors work out for you?

I went back to the store this morning and got a print out of want the code means. P0141 means bank 1 sencor 2 so next week I will be replacing that and hopefully that fixes the problem.

Ok next question is if I unplug the sensors that are bad will it stop acting like it choking. Cause wen I step on the gas that's what it acts like.

those codes are for bank 1 sensor 1 p1131, bank2 sensor 1 1151 and bank1 sensor 2 p0141. p1131 and p1151 mean the engine is running lean on both banks [or both sensors are bad less likely] so look for a large vacuum leak or lack of fuel. the way you describe how it runs it sounds like lack of fuel or even a MAF sensor.

4/23/12, today I want outside to start the expo. I held the rpm's steady at 1500 rpms another kept dropping down to 1300 rpms then surging back up to 1500 constantly. Could this involve the o2 sensers

Also when I put the truck in park and hold the rpms at 1500 they surge up an down between 1200 and 1500. Is this a effect of the o2 sensors going bad.

It is possible they can cause a rpm variation as it adjusts. Are you sure the fuel press is not dropping off? use a mechanical guage to test it- it should be 35-45psi at idle and when the gas is pressed it should go up slightly 2-6 psi. if it goes down then the pump cant keep up.
