Gave up trying to fix the top weather strip on the windshield.. Prev owner had the windshield either replaced or removed and resealed. the top left hand side had too much seal to which I can't fix it seems.

My windshield was the total opposite. I had mine replaced recently and was told that whoever put that windshield in did seal it properly and it was starting to rust. Luckily, they said it wasn't bad enough to not do the install. I wonder what my options would have been if they wouldn't do the install.

They took a grinder to the rust, put a rust inhibiting primer over the bare metal and then installed the windshield. FYI, it was Safelite.

same here on the rust. I took a pressure washer to it to knock off the bubbled paint. eventually I will get to the rust and fix the weather strip. not too worried about it as she is about to become a work truck if this job pulls through.

Swapped out the spare tire carrier (old cable had been cut), fixed the tailgate actuator so the rear window now latches and locks, replaced fuse 29 (i think) so the OD light now works (don't know if it actually impacts whether the OD actually works but the light comes on now.) Tomorrow I will be replacing the rear window wiper motor.

Lighting check. Right reverse light was out in a way that surprised me. it was out of it's socket and floating in the housing.

starting to smell antifreeze in the vents even w/o heat on. need to investigate that today if the rain stops.

Still can't source coolant smell from vents. floor carpet is dry. top and bottom. drove awhile with ac off and fan on high to blow out the remaining condensation. when I parked I checked where the water usually drips off the frame and it was bone dry. as was the rear ac drain. I was also about 1 qt low of coolant but it's been two months with the res cap open and not having added any water. the cap is open due to a cracked rad tank that I hope to address soon when I fully trust all the other issues are straight.

I have changed out the front rotors and pads, man were the old ones a PITA to remove. I beat them with a 5 lb dead blow hammer and they wouldn't budge. I had to do the bolt, washer and nut trick to pop them off. My chrome grill has a crack by the pass head light I plan to grind, fiberglass and then plastidip the whole thing black to match the bumper and the mirror covers. DId the back brakes this past week. New Rotors, parking brake shoes and brake pads. The parking brake on the drivers side was fine but the pas side was hanging and wouldn't release so it took some convincing to get the rotor off. I would have used the adjuster but it was frozen. I also cleaned and greased the adjusters so they will actually function now.

Put the torsion bar key all the way up. Bought six 305/70/17 Maxxus mud tires for $450, paid nothing for install since the tire shop wanted my old tires, went to Firestone to have all five balanced. Love it!

That is sweet. I'd love to know what you did. My spare is to big for the carrier, and I don't want to life on the roof, so for now it's standing up and strapped in the back.

Items. 4 1/2 3in long bolts, 14 1/2 washers 4 1/2 nuts h2 tire mont and a lot of measuring.

Will have pics up tomorrow step by step.

LOL..

I actually had success with wet sanding with 3000 grit sand paper followed up with cleaner wax. Depending on how bad cleaner wax by itself will work well. Just may take a bit more time.

Might try Mr Clean Eraser next time. :)

I always wax my headlights and tails when I wax the vehicle. Works great on them as well. Maybe some wax's won't work well.. I dunno. But the meguiars wax I use does.

These are my original headlights...

Did the chrome on the front bumper with good ole plasti dip. Rear bumper, decals, and I may plasti dip all the black plastic to bring back life.

Just completed a 3500mile one month camping trip. Went to Banff Alberta, Northern Idaho and the Colombian river gorge. Pulled a 2500lb ten trailer and got 14.5MPG using mostly pure gas. The times I was stuck with E10 I got 11.5-12 MPG. Use pure gas if you can get it. More power and MPG. Mike

I always use that cheap as you can get plain Jane Colgate toothpaste and a terry cloth. Rub it on with a little elbow grease let it haze the clean it off... works great! Oh and BTW learned this trick from ole Stacey David when he still did the show trucks before he started show Gearz.
