So thanks to all the contributors in this thread I was a kid to get 2 new keys installed (truck only came with 1 so first key I programmed with forscan, 2nd with “2 key” method”!

Unfortunately the video on how to enable remote start (post #4, 2nd video) seems to have been set to private so I can’t find the settings to do that. The remote start button on the fob does flash the lights and honk the horn so I think I’m getting closer.

Anyone have screenshots or a different video showing how they enabled remote start?

For whatever reason the key fob I have requires the sequence: lock, turnover x3. Not sure why, but it works.

I just came here to say, I did what the video does (turn the remote start on in Forscan) and had 2 remote start keys cut and we now have remote start on our 2017 EL XLT. No modules were required.

which menu did you change to enable the remote start in Forscan? Or can you link it?

I believe it’s a plain English drop down menu in the BCM section. I went back to the first few posts of this thread and for whatever reason the video tutorials aren’t playing for me. Is it the same for you?

Start at around 12:31 if you already have forscan, earlier if you don’t. His is an F-150, so ignore all the hardware stuff he does at the beginning unboxing, etc. He goes into BCM “as built format.” At least in the 15+ Expeditions, you’ll go into the other BCM section (we call it “plain English” since there are menus with words, rather than lines of code). There should be options to enable remote start as a drop down menu. I think there are 2 separate menus, but don’t hold me to that. Make sure you save your truck’s original settings before making changes. I read a lot about forscan in the huge thread started by Loki before I felt comfortable messing around with it, so just make sure you’re feeling up to the task.

Had to get an extended license( Free and Easy), but was able to use Forscan to enable remote start in Body Module configuration as in second video in post 4. Works GREAT!!!!!

I made sure doors were locked, pressed start button on Remote, pressed start button again and held until started. Unlocked doors with remote and truck stayed running. Put key in switched and turned to on position. If you do not put the key into ignition and turn to on position, the gear shift will not move from PARK.

This worked on 2017 expedition XLT with sync 1, using Forscan with extended license, OHP ELM327 USB WIFI adapter from Amazon, and two keys From Amazon. Last two were links in previous posts by others. All For $80.

Good Luck.
Just double checking that the only place you went in forscan was Body Module? I assume I don't need to go into hvac settings. Getting ready to do this soon.

I messed with the HVAC options with no luck. Although everything seams to work, weather related. Ac in summer and heat in winter. Even noticed the rear defrost works, not sure if it's always on during winter remote start or not. But most likely is always on. All I did was enabled remote start in the bcm plain English.

Got my keys delivered from amazon today and had them both cut at the local hardware store for under 4 bucks. It was easy to program them to start the car but programming the locks etc kicked my ass at first until I remembered reading about the 8 times with ignition switch. Had to do that to both the two old keys and two new ones to get them all to retain the locks programming. Remote start works and climate control adjusts itself to current weather conditions.

Dear all
I just got my perimeter plus
I plugged it to the car and went to forscan

I got a problem - beouse in BCM i do not have option / line

remote start (enable/ disable)

I got others like
• Remote start - climate settings- enable
• Remote start - front seat- enable (optional)
• Remote start - rear defrost – enable (optional)
• Remote start - steering feel – enable (optional)

How can i add it to the menu??

BestRegards
