I'd love to get the number and department you spoke too. I've had no luck getting to Ford's Technical Team/Engineering group in search of specific answers about these s/w updates and whether the replacement parts used for cam phasers, timing chains, etc. are in fact of new design that address shortcomings of the original parts (as I was informed by my MT Ford Dealer).I called Ford Corporate a week ago and did get the information that the 21B10 was done just the day before I bought the vehicle by the dealer.
In fact, if you call the Ford Customer Satisfaction number provided on your recall/service bulletin, and ask to speak with someone in the technical department, they'll tell you Ford does not have a technical department... maybe that's the problem .
