I called Ford Corporate a week ago and did get the information that the 21B10 was done just the day before I bought the vehicle by the dealer.
I'd love to get the number and department you spoke too. I've had no luck getting to Ford's Technical Team/Engineering group in search of specific answers about these s/w updates and whether the replacement parts used for cam phasers, timing chains, etc. are in fact of new design that address shortcomings of the original parts (as I was informed by my MT Ford Dealer).

In fact, if you call the Ford Customer Satisfaction number provided on your recall/service bulletin, and ask to speak with someone in the technical department, they'll tell you Ford does not have a technical department... maybe that's the problem .

If I remember correctly, only the new, updated design cam phasers are utilized. All old stock was consumed or discontinued.

I wouldn't think so, and I certainly hope it does not. Let us know what 5star says Tunage
Well crud, so unfortunately after checking my ECU Strategy code, it definitely changed, in fact most of the attributes have changed. So it looks like any/all of us with tunes will be paying to get them redone. Fun fun! Its pretty sad to see what's happening, especially when at the dealership there were more cars in line for this update than there were new cars on the lot.

5star may provide updated tunes if memory serves. I asked them and sounded like there are instances in which they will re-do the tunes due to programming at dealers. Recall I think. Being this is not a recall I dunno if they’ll push back or not.

I posted on another post for phasers or waste gate noise. Had my vehicle in for noise upon startup. Vehicle was at dealership 2 weeks. They did the updates and also did the Cam phasers. I will post the warranty work sheet for parts used again. Also........I will see when I cold start tomorrow.

5star did update the tunes for me for free, but I would have been willing to pay, it's not their fault, and the thousands of people that are likely going to need this. What a mess.

Finally dropped off the Expedition today for the cam phaser replacement. I hope everything goes well. It has taken 4 months to get it diagnosed, parts ordered and service scheduled.
