One thing to consider is that if you're going to wait for a 2023, it may start production in January 2023 and be delivered in March 2023. GM's order cutoff for 2023 models is around April so you could just wait until mid 2023 and see if you prefer the revised 2024 GM full size SUVs.
If the above schedule is reality then the 2022 models will be very short lived and the 2023 models will be available like previous years sometime around Oct/Nov. Oh course we don't know what's really going to happen. As for the GM lineups they have had issues as well getting parts but I'm not sure if it's as bad as Ford.

I never received my email this week. Is there anyone else that didn't receive theirs? Is this some elaborate sick joke Ford is playing on us or are we actually getting some Expys built?
I didn’t receive an email this week. Ordered a max XLT, 4wd, standard equipment group, black cloth interior, iconic silver exterior. Last email I got was last Friday saying my production date got payed back to 4/25 (dealer told me 5/9 in their system) and called ford marketing and they said 4/25 as well.

I also didn't get anything this past week. No other updates available. Emailed the dealer a few weeks ago but got no response.

Ir came from before, and the one who posts it I believe us a ford employee. Theyve been a highly reliable source.

As for gms, idk if they continue to do so, but gm were shipping suvs with features locked or unavailable. However it clearly isn't stopping people from purchasing, as they cant stay on lots. The 24s will be getting a refresh, so we'll see what happens then.

I think each are prioritizing different markets. GM's class leading vehicles are in the 1/2 ton full size SUV market. Ford's class leading vehicles are in the 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton pickup trucks.

Exactly the same situation with mine.
For reference I have a 304a in stone with the elsd and HD tow.

When I click the activate on FordPass it just errors out. Which I guess makes sense.

Mine went into production around the start of the month. Window sticker was available as of late Feb.
I didn't try actually activating it in the FordPass app until this evening just to see what it would do, and it gave me a message that the feature isn't available yet and to try again when I've taken delivery of the vehicle. Not sure if that's the same error message you received, but either way it wouldn't accept it.

Also unless GM changes the back seat configuration those SUVs won't work for us. I tested it out and my knees were at my chest level with how little the distance between seat and floor. None of my kids are expected to be short so that's a big deal to me.

Sad day for me :(
I can no longer see my window sticker.
I was put into "In Production" on 2/16 and I could see the window sticker on the same day.
Today, it still says "In production", but they removed the window sticker :(
Really annoyed at Ford for making me wait since november. I am slowly starting to think whether I should go and buy something from what is available at the dealer lot (ford or gm)

In September 2021, I ordered a 2021 Expedition Max XLT. In December, I received notification that the 2021 was switched over to a 2022. My 2022 has been in production status since March 7th. My dealer has received the invoice, but no information as to whether or not it is built. My window sticker showed up February 25, 2022, and it seems to get updated on Sunday evening or early Monday morning. I too am considering shopping for something that is on the lot, even considering a Tahoe, but I am very hesitant about that consideration.

I'm in the same boat, but I think it's actually a good sign the truck is further along in production. I can now see the option to activate the truck and even wifi hotspot in FordPass.
Comes down to need though, I'm also frustrated in the 6 month wait time, but if you need something quickly and can get a decent price it never hurts to look. Worst case you still have one on order...

I have been “in production” for a week now. I can still see my window sticker, but I do not have the option to activate anything in the app yet. I am not sure what all of this means. It seems like many of us are in different “statues” at this point. I may try to call marketing sometime today too and see what they say.

I have been in production since Feb 27th, the disappearing window sticker and fordpass updates only happened in the past few days.
The wait is ridiculous. I get supply chain shortages, but this is crazy.

I received the following email on Friday, March 18th. I'm not fully convinced that quality control is the hold up, but I do believe that there is definitely an issue with parts/chips.

Sometime between early morning when I first checked it and after lunch when I checked it again, my FordPass app added a picture of the 2022 just like our current vehicles have. The option to activate it still says to wait until delivery of course, but my window sticker is still absent. Overall, these developments seem like positives that stuff is moving down the line.

Call marketing. I did today, she told me mine had been scheduled to start, but they haven’t actually started mine yet. Hopefully this week. You will only need the last 8 of your VIN and verify your address, email, and phone number.

called them today, very helpful. Told me the truck is in production, likely on final steps as it has an estimated ship date of April 9th, depending on carrier capacity.
She also said there is an issue with their external tracking system where the window stickers are not appearing for some orders, it's something they are trying to resolve, but the window sticker did appear and she could see it when pulled from their internal system. no idea why it was happening, she asked her manager, she didn't know either, but reassured me it was there.
