$13 a can at the local autoparts stores. Video is convincing but so are all commercials! Except those annoying "real people" Chevy ads on TV!

Anyone guinea pig this yet? Where does it spray?

I'm still debating a catch can.

Interesting that the 2018 Mustang has both throttle body and direct injection at least in the 5.0 engine.

The EcoBoost in the 17+ F150 and 18+ Expeditions have both.

Correct, 15-17 Expeditions have the 1st Gen 3.5TT EB, as do current Explorer Sports. Only the 17+ 150 and 18+ Expedition have the 2nd Gen 3.5TT EB, that features both Port and Direct injection.

Direct injection produces a lot of carbon deposits port injection with it or not. The 5.0 can still carbon up it’s the nature of the beast. That product looks like it would be good to use.

It does, but port injection because it is before the intake valves allows the fuel(A solvent) to clean the intake valves. It isn't perfect, but it does significantly decrease buildup.

That stuff is the same thing as Sea Foam Top Engine Cleaner that's been around for years. I'm not familiar with CRC but I am with Sea Foam and I'm a believer in their products. I think either one would do the job and probably a good thing to add to your maintenance schedule

Be careful with the cleaners. The solvents in the cleaners are getting to the turbos and ruining them.The last I heard Ford does not have a way to clean the valves. They are not warrantying them.

Pretty sure the dealers have a procedure to clean the valves and gum out. Not sure how the solvent would damage a turbo.

Would running a higher octane fuel help any? I run 87 now but will switch if there are more pros than cons. A lot of you guys/girls on here running 93?

I only run 93 in mine. Ive run 87 once and could tell without a doubt a drop in performance and gas mileage

The product J ski posted is not put into the fuel tank. You spray it directly into the intake and it sprays over and runs through the valves as it runs cleaning them. Seems kosher to me.

There is no official Ford procedure to clean out the back of the valves. My dealer says they have a way to do it and I asked them if it takes out the turbo is that covered under warranty and they just shrugged.

You are absolutely correct there. No fuel or additive changes that, although some will tell you they will rebuild and better your whole engine as your drive lol. It looks like lots of owners use this product on DI turbo engines upon looking into it from many makers. Ford saying “solvents will ruin your turbos” sounds untrue. Are their turbos magically susceptible to damage from solvents every 10-15k Miles any more so than the competition? I’m going to say no,

I watched one of the Fordtechmakuloco videos and he was saying that burning solvent through the intake makes the exhaust gas temp significantly higher which can evaporate the oil from the bearings faster than it can be replaced which causes bearing failure which can take out the turbo. If I can find the video I will post it here.
