This is some fairly epic trolling. Excellent job.Ford ruined the Expedition, to appeal to short soccer moms. It is now a mini van alternative. Ford wants the men, buying the ugly, high profit F-150.

Its definitely not a minivan alternative unless you know of 400hp 10spd Mini vans with true transfer cases and locking rear diffs? Not to mention respectable towing capacity. Hell 6inches of ground clearance on a mini van only happens if you put over sized tires on stock suspension lol.Ford ruined the Expedition, to appeal to short soccer moms. Probably depends on the rental agency and even location. For sure I’ve had both Fords and GMs with obvious rental Nanny controls locked in. Its possible Fiat hasn’t figured that out yetThe Challenger Hemi I got from Avis last month did not have rental mode. They left the 0-60 timer on the driver info screen and sport mode was more than happy to let the tires spin a bit...
The Expedition, was the Bronco replacement. They sold so many, it cut into F-150 and Windstar sales. Ford slow rolled upgrades and new models. They want to sell high profit, F-150 trucks and claim #1 in sales for 25yrs running. If i could remember correctly, the bronco didnt have an independent front suspension, third row bench, street tires, car like ride, and rear entertainment options. And i def dont remember ford ever advertising the expy the same as the bronco.
Agreed. The ‘it’s just a minivan’ line is so tired at this point I don’t even finish reading those comments lolIts definitely not a minivan alternative unless you know of 400hp 10spd Mini vans with true transfer cases and locking rear diffs? I drove fleet Fords for nearly 10 years and this is one of the reasons I bought a Ford product. I beat the hell out of every one of those fleet vehicles in every way imaginable and they were tough as nails and never did I have a problem. I was religious about the maintenance intervals and we kept them for 60k miles. A Taurus and a few Fusions... boy were those cars great.I would never ever tell anyone to buy a former fleet vehicle/rental vehicle...junk. Beat up, abused, and had 100s of different owners whipping on them
I shopped both in September, GMC and Expedition. I had the check book out to buy the Yukon Denali. Dealer didn’t want to deal so I literally put the check book in my pocket and walked out.The Expedition was to replace the Bronco but why? The Bronco was too narrow a segment. Yes the expy was to appeal to both Bronco buyers and what you call “Soccer Moms”. With 375 hp and 4WD the 2018+ Expedition is no minivan and is a very capable vehicle. It’s not my favorite anymore but still a great truck. This is why there are options and why the free market is awesome. If I was looking new I wouldn’t buy the new Expedition either, doesn’t mean the next guy isn’t going to choose it. I’d choose the GMC myself, it’s aggressive and it roars V8 when you hit the gas, just more “truck”. More similar to my 3rd gens stance from the drivers seat, the 4th gens don’t sit quite as high from there or have the power-dome hood that makes you feel like you own the road. Everyone likes what they like.

In the Dealer business thats called a lost sale with lost future sales. I went and looked at the Expedition. First off people shopping these shop them for seating flexibility. The new Expedition absolutely crushes the Yukon in every way. Absolutely no competition in seating comfort, ease of use, functionality etc.
Drive ability ie turning radius, technology etc no comparison. Engine? Yeah it’s quieter but better mileage and yes quicker.
My local hard ass Ford dealer known for not dealing. Cracked after 3 days $3200 below invoice for the exact vehicle I wanted. I liked the Yukon but honestly if your dropping 70+k wait and buy the total redesign in a yr or so. The Expedition is in a whole new class.
Did they have a 2nd video with the Navigator? Because the one I watched had the Expedition Platinum, the Nissan Armada and a Yukon Denali in a couple drag races and the Expedition was the clear winner...I just can’t deal with the V6 and Euro taste Ford has now, it’s not the Expy it’s the whole lineup. I’m a young red blooded American. You pop the hood and see plastic valve covers, plastic oil pan and it just screams CHEAP and they are charging tons. I’m not logical and nor are most consumers, we like what we like. I like American styling cues with big naturally aspirated engines, the American way....that’s the GMC and Chevy. Many are fans of the new Euro cues but it’s not me. I’m open to hybrid and electric technology but I’m not a fan of the stop gap measure of small turbo engines. I’d rather have the big reliably and strongly built V8 or a reliable simple electric motor. It is what it is as they say. The 6.2L Denali is 5.7 seconds 0-60....bested only by the Navigators HO engine. TFL raced the too and the Denali won anyway, but somehow lost to the expy lol. Nothing looks as bad*ss as a bold flat nosed truck.

Yes, the Denali 6.2 beats the Navigator handily in their straight line acceleration test. They said they did 3 runs all the same outcome on their website. Confusing indeedDid they have a 2nd video with the Navigator? Because the one I watched had the Expedition Platinum, the Nissan

I just don’t like the small turbo engines and Euro taste Ford has right now, it’s not the Expy it’s the whole lineup. I’m a young red blooded American. You pop the hood and see plastic valve covers, plastic oil pan and it just screams CHEAP and they are charging tons. I’m not exactly logical and nor are most consumers, we like what we like. My preference is American styling cues with bigger engines. Many are fans of the new European cues but it’s not for me, that’s ok. I’m open to hybrid and electric technology for the record but stop gaps and Euro cars don’t have a long place on our big open roadways. I’d rather have the strong V8 or a simple Electric motor. TFL raced the Denali and Nav and the Yukon won, but lost to expy. It is what it is as they say. Nothing looks as bad*ss as a bold flat nosed truck. I do have to say I LOVE the Navigator styling, much more American truck cues.
My platinum in white with dark interior was ok but every time I tried negotiating on the light interior negotiations went south. The lighter interiors at least in our region are top choice and dealers get very protective of them. LoLI was looking for an SUV that could tow a camper handily, including any upgrades we make in the future. At this point in time, the Expedition is the clear winner with the Durango SRT as a close second followed by the Navigator, Yukon, etc.
Although the SRT would be fun when not towing, the looks (particularly interior) and wife acceptance factor (WAF) did not meet up to the expectations. The Yukon is looking a little outdated (I know I could wait, but the new 1500s look horrible, so why wait, IMO) and my wife did not want the same vehicle that a few of her friends have. None have an Expedition, BTW.
In the end, when I saw the Stealth package, I knew that was the one I would get. Up to that point, I had been looking at Platinums, but always hesitated because the wife wanted the light interior. I got my white vehicle with black interior in the end. So I am happy.
BTW, all the concerns/points from the OP is either a feature, personal preference, or learning curve. I am a techie so none of these things bother me in the least.
