I am good about letting the throttle down at least three times a week. I've never been afraid to open it up when I can. I got new tires recently and found out as I stand she will only reach about 98mph.. likely to do maybe 101-103 if I had another mile to reach it..
when I did do that I noticed there is some top end rattle that I can't source. oil full at 7 qts new filter etc. I don't really worry as she has 279k

It's not quite that bad but close.... lol.
I believe the factory speed limiter is set at about 100mph. So unless you have a programmer or tuner it will hit a wall there.

Woke up to this today. some idiot went out of his way to clip a pallet in the side off the road, the two cars in front of me scattered the remaining debris around. i ran over all of it three wood punctures and the tire was deemed "not repairable" and replaced free under the roadhazard warranty. i only had to pay $13 for a new warranty on the new tire and was on my way.

also, just got the rear glass struts I ordered can finally not get hit in the head by the glass
Got it towed to the dealer!! 
Coming to a stop light, it just died. It's done it before, but always started right up. In the past it's been an open circuit in the TPS, so I assume that's what it is, but I'm not going to throw money at it until I know for sure what it is. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Luckily a neighbor was driving by and towed us back to our house to wait in comfort for the tow truck.

I put new Cooper Discoverer H/T's on my 98 Eddie Bauer Edition a week ago and finally got a chance to try the 4 wheel drive. Our forecast was predicting 6-9 inches an the actual snow fall amount was 13 inches.
Damn thing didn't even break a sweat
On a side note, I had to chauffeur stranded coworkers of my wife and daughter, and when I finally got back home some idiot parked in the spot I had cleared and took up 2+ spots with their POS. I returned the favor by cleaning the spot in front of them and buried their car with that snow. Paybacks are a BI%@#!!!!

washed the underbody off, bled and re greased the slide pins. found that both lower ball joints are trashed and have way too much play in them. currently have drivers side broken apart but can't get it out enough to remove... what do?

Passenger side balljoint I removed with the press and got it jammed in the collar. Separating the driver's side balljoint was done using chisels and a pickle fork (a bit easier this way). I replaced the lower control arms at the time of this service.
Cheapest replacement parts were autopartstomorrow. Ignore upper control arm designation "without air ride suspension" if you decide to do the uppers as well. There is absolutely no difference between the upper control arms for an expedition with air ride and one unequipped.

Just did a coil boot and spark plug change on the #2 & 4 cylinder of the 5.4 L Triton motor due to a misfire. Such a pain getting the #4 back in.
I have never seen a rotor that bad. Hang that on the wall as a trophy LOL.

I think they bought that expy from a junk yard to make videos of replacing parts.
TL;DR Lower ball joints instaled
I ended up sleeping on my problem. I followed a guide here which gave me the extra push to get moving again. the 2wd and 4wd are somewhat different so that video didn't really help me ( i had watched it last night before I posted) I ended up renting the puller and taking the brakes off then with a jack and pickle fork I got the upper control arm to lower enough to slide the bolt from the joint out of the knuckle. ( where I was stuck). following that on the right side, i reduced my time from wheel on the ground and back to 2 hours (well, one hour 55 mins.)
the front suspension is quiet now but the brake problem still remains :/
