Seeing as many people on here can barely make It to 40k without major issues, bulletproof maybe the best characteristic to describe how dependable his truck has been in the short term.

40k miles is not the definition of bulletproof. Need to stretch that to 150k miles.

Years ago that number was 300k. In my mind it's 200k+. Now most Expedition owners consider it 150k as you said. The accepted durability bar keeps getting lowered as the price keeps getting higher. :/

I would not say that expectation is correct out of new buyers globally. Many plan to and should get long vehicle life with good maintenance, freak accidents happen as do mistakes though. I hope to get 200-250k out of my 2023 F-150 5.0L V8. Can’t speak on the EcoBoost as I’m not as well educated on it like others here are. Coming from a 5.4L 3V Expedition and comparing to the 5.0L 4V engine in the F-150 it would appear from an engineering standpoint that the 5.0 is built much beefier than the 5.4 was. The 3rd & 4th gen 5.0 have the forged steel crankshaft and sinter forged connecting rods out of the OG 2012 Boss 302 Road-Runner motor stock off the showroom floor since 2018. All that good stuff was just cast and powdered metal on the 5.4 Triton.
